New to Wolf EMS, questions
I'm getting a new EMS and have heard pretty impressive things about the Wolf V500 and have been thinking of getting a Plug and Play from Corksport. Have any of you had any bad experiences w/ your Wolf EMS? Also, what are the additional expenses of installing a V500, like I guess I am just wondering how much more it will cost over the price of their kit to install? I am getting tuned at a Dyno shop a few towns over, so I already added that cost. I've also got the impression from everything I've read that I have to switch to MAP instead of Airflow. Is this true? I can use the stock ignition setup right? Before Rotary, I never seen a two input signal igniter like the trailing and thought issues could arise from this setup. Anyone w/ input on any of these questions, help me out here. Thanks guys.

Sorry if I sound uneducated on rotary standalones, it's because I am. The only other car I've had and still have is a 68 Camaro. U don't need a base Map to get it started. Just a screw driver, lol.

Ive had only good experiences on my Wolf V4.
I think the only additional cost of having a wolf v500 installed over the previous version is the additional price of the unit. it wires in just the same.
You dont really need much besides the kit to get them installed. Basic wiring tools (connectors, solder and gun heatshrink etc) My kit had just about everything i needed.
You dont have to switch to map, but im not sure if you can use the stock MAF if you wish to stay MAF, i belive you have to use a GM unit. Personaly id make the switch to MAP and ditch mass air all together
As for the stock ignition, yes and no, but maby all yes
With the V4 unless you had specified before ordering,on 2nd gen ignitions you would have to use a diffirent ignitor to fire the trailing coils because the wolf couldnt fire the stock one. There are a bunch of options, using 2 bosch single channel igniotors, a duel channel ($$$) or the 3rd gen ignitor which i used and cost only $40 iirc that i bought off somebody on this forum
again that whole ignition thing only is a problem with the 2nd gens which im assuming you have being the only car in your profile is the 87 gxl.
That problem was also with the V4, and im unsure if its still a problem with the V500
dont worry about being uneducated, we all have to learn sometime

I talked to Corksport today and they said the V500 has a lot of new things that make them easier to install on stock setups, but he would look into it. From my understanding it just needs another pulse signal to select which plug. I don't see why I couldn't if the computer will allow it just send the same signal to both igniter inputs??? I'm going MAP even though I don't want to. Just think it'll be easier to wire.

you cant send it to both ignitor inputs on the trailing coil because thats now how it functions. From my understanding one input is a selector which is a binary switch to tell it which coil to fire, and the other is to tell it when to fire. Mazda's little way of over-engineering something i suppose.
