Wolf 3D Lsu-4????
#3
well no software at all. i down loaded the help file from here:
http://www.wolfems.com/component/opt...man/Itemid,48/
That led to the screen you see.
Apparently the new software may be compatable with a number of wide band o2 sensors.
I got concerned coz I just ordered 2 LSMs 11, and thought that that is no longer in use by wolf.
Ps. Any clue how to wire an LSM11 on a plug in unit? I mean the car harness has no sng grnd where to ground the lsm.
Thanks
George

it probably has a sng grnd, maby you jus thave to pull it driectly from the harness?
can you see wehre all you sensors ground out to? maby ground to the same place as a temp sensor ground?

I just made a adapter harness to go between ECU and the bosch connectors on my
Stand alone. This keeps your standard wiring intact. I know that you now have 2
connectors to deal with but it seems to work ok!! Oh yes the new revision of hardware may have LSU4 sensor hardware in it. V400???? Because they are cheaper than LSM11????. If you don't have a V400 don't worry.....ok mine AFR doesn't work on the new software with a LSM11 yet. I was looking at hacking (phisically)the hand controller to get access to the AFR data for the Wolf. I was hoping to make a interface that plugs into your laptop to emulate the hand controller, this would give accurate AFR's even with a cold sensor
Anyone got a spare handset to lend me????

I had to wire mine in because I had Version 3 harness I have the
Narrow O2 sig wire and the Wide band sig wires are the same, the
earth is different. What I did was I made a adaptor with bosch
connector and used utilux 4 pin automotive conector on the Wolf.
I commoned the battery and earth feeds and the O2Sig wire then
ran the new earth wire to the female utilux and then I made a
harness with the male utilux and 2 bosch connectors to fit LSM11.
Then just ripped out the old O2 installed the new O2 and clipped
the cables together. I would ask Wolf themselves where to
wire from but If I was doing it I would have wired out only the
wideband earth as a narrow band O2 on the wideband wiring
still works well.
This really needs to be clarified.
I hope to talk to the people at Wolf this week.
Cheers

When I ring Steve at Wolf I will ask because it would be good to
have in our knowledgebase, and the more obvious to help out.
I hope to be able to post details by the weeks end. BTW from memory the part Number for a LSM11 is LSU 4%$%^$^%&^% where the junk is the part number i think. George can you have a look at your Box for the LSM 11 under the bottom. I will have a look for my Box too!!
Cheers

P.S. I make mistakes too you know.....

BAd news guys. The LSM11 and LSU4 are very different animals.
On the up side LSU4's are about $100au they are 6 wire so who knows
how they wire in. http://www.megasquirt.info/PWC/wire.htm
This has some wiring info.....
More Work
Anyway another day goes by.

I emailed wolf and got a reply nearly straight away.
This is what Steve said.

Hi Davey.
Thanks for your email. You will need an LSM-11 oxygen
sensor. We have them for sale on our web site at:
http://wolfems.cart.net.au/details/106322.html
I would highly recommend having your ECU firmware updated, as 4.54
is around 4 years old. I do not believe it will run the wideband
sensor.
Sorry for the mistake in the Help File, it should say LSM-11, not
LSU4.
If you have any other questions, please let me know.
Regards,
Steve..

and this
Hi Davey,
The AFR displayed on the PC Software is just as accurate as
the Hand Controller.
The turn around time from when you send it until you receive it back
is around a week. The only cost to you is freight to and from
our office.

Steve..

This must be in the new firmware because 4.56 only outputs in 2 mv steps
to the laptop port unless they use a different memory location(which is quite possible as there where a few data bits I didn't decode) with the
new software. When I was testing the software it didn't display AFR only voltage.
However that wasn't the released software. Its good to see that LSM11 is still the O2 of choice. again
