Xbox 360 VS PS3

my nephew wants one for his birthday but not sure on which one to buy coz I'm too old for these games. so which one do you guys recommend, why and where can I get a discount

I lurked at Bestbuy but confused as there are many selections...does it make a difference if its not kinect? my budget for this is no more than $400. I missed those days when you can just give a kid $5 to play video games

360 seems to be the best for the price but i would personally get the ps3 because all the games i want to play are on there.

360 first. It has the majority of the good games. Especially the exclusives. The PS3 has a couple exclusive games that are good but no where near as many as Xbox.

Good choice. As for games, for a 10 year old, you should get him Little Big Planet 2 and maybe Call of Duty: Black Ops, even though I'm against it, but that's what all the little kids play these days Good luck Tito Wacky!

I would SAY NO to Call of Duty, Black Ops, it's a violent shooter, and based in the 70's-80's Cold War Era, has sub tones of torture, and other bad things for Kids, besides In all Likelihood his dad was probably born after the game concludes....
If it has to be PS3, get Little Big Planet, and Mod Nation (Ricers) Racers... since those are age appropriate, and let the parents screw up your grandchild with Call of Duty....
You should be able to find videos of both games on youtube... as well as Call of Duty if you want a peek as to what that's like...

being a 23 year old male, i grew up playing mario and og super nintendo games.
a 10 year old shouldent even be playing video games imho, specially being handed a 300$ console + games @60$ a piece...
i have both consoles, but the 360 has more games that would be age appropriate, but the ps3 has good games as well.
idk, i would give some legos and tell him to use his brain.
man, i sound hella old right now.....

I got him a $500 gift certificate from bestbuy so he can buy whatever he wants; thats $490 more than I would spend for myself. I am now afraid to pick up my cellphone since I have lots of nephews and nieces, and godkids lol

Dont buy him any games! Figure out which game he wants, Say Gran Turismo 5 or call of duty black ops. Then get him a Game fly account and get his first game using the game fly rental.

That way when he gets bored of it, he can get a brand new game.

game fly is like the netflix of the gaming industry.
