He just posted in the 3rd Gen section that he was T-boned by a '90s van as he was going to get butter. Spent 4 hours in the trauma center...damn! Glad to hear that he is ok.

hi guys sorry it took so long for me to get on here.
Yes i was t boned by a van.
Long story short.
I was turning left, the van was turning left (going opposite directions).
The van apparently changed minds and went straight but i was already committed to the turn.
I at no point saw the van headed towards me and blacked out instandly, died for about 30 seconds to a minute according to the off duty nurse that was thankfully there and then kicked back to life for some reason.
I was cited for failure to yield, he was cited for failure to signal properly. Basically in a double fault situation like this, our own insurances will be taking care of our own damageds it seems however I will be going to court over it (not to sue the guy) but just to get a judgement in my favor that I had the right of way seeing as I had already initiated my turn and he is the one who was changing his mind so I can get my deductible waived.,
I had full coveerage and medical coverage. I have several deep gashes in my arm however they are already almost healed thankfully as I have always healed quickkly. I have a small fracture in my cheekbone and tons of bruising everywhere and cant hold my upper body up at the moment without some muscle relaxant (valium).
But I am alive.
And I do thank you all for your concern and I also thank the great whoever that I did not have my fiance with me and that the other gentlemen in the van is not injured at all and no one was hurt other than me. That being said, yes RIP beautiful Laguna Seca RX7 with BNRIII's.
Sad to see it go.
I have alrady purchased a replacement vehicle thought, that of course I cannot drive for awhiel but I can sit in it and it will make me smile until I can drive.

oh if anyone was curious, the clsoing rate on the accident was between 45 and 60mph. So it was a very high speed side impact.
I dont think I shoudl have lived honestly. But am thankful i did.

I haven't 100% settled on the RX7 payout yet but its gonna cost me between 11k and about 14k depending on how well I do on the RX7 payout.
I got this NSX through Manheim because they back vehicles they sell and if its not mechanically sound when it arives in phoenix (its being shipped from a UTAH dealer) then I can return it with no penalty. Its costing about 2000 to get it shipped with full insurance, and to have the ability to return it if its not what I ordered. Seemed steep at first to me but then i thought about the amount of work involved in getting an out of state vehicle title transferred to AZ before getting the financing done and I dont want to deal with it. Plus Mahheim will have it ready to drive away when I get it. Tags titles and liscences etc.
Plus they do a 100 point inspection to check for anything that was not disclosed properly by the dealer and same deal, I can send it back.
And lastly, they do a full detail on the machine. Engine bay and interior and exterior, including a buff and wax job.
The only disclosed defect on this vehicle is a small scratch on the rear quarter panel.
So im pretty happy and we'll see how it goes from here.
I am sad to be 'leaving' the rotary community, but my neighbor had an FD with a blown engine, so were gonna see if we can get my swap + the V mount back from insurance and put it in his car. So ill still have some doritos in the blood.
I'll get another FD someday, just not yet. not ready for that yet. I need to have a honda for a while again lol.
