i am on my way to work today driving on wilmington ave towards the 91 fwy.
and to my surprise i see a line of cars going the other way, as i got closer and closer eager to see what the hold up was. the CHP apparently set up a sting to check peeps smog. pulling people over to do random smog checks.. so be careful

I heard about this operation going on in Sacramento as well. And not sure if this is true or not, this is strictly a voluntary thing.

arizona is the best, i live 55 mins away from phoenix and they don't have smog testing here.

and there is a HUGE import scene in phoenix

it was ON WILMINGTON AVE north bound. just south of alondra. i saw it going south towards the 91west.. that answer it?

theyve been doing that for a while to shut down illegal smog places. they are prosecuting the techs, the owners of the shop, and eventually anyone involved in doing illegal smogs, even the customers.
so, getting pulled over off the street and having your car checked wont do anything at the time, just flags the state and could possibly lead to investigation into illegal activity.

sorry buddy, but prepare youself. arizona was 1 of the 23 states involved in the discussions of bringing california laws into the rest of the country. this talk about your state not having any laws is pretty much null and void. by the end of 2015, every state is supposed to have smog checking in some manner.

There are parts of San Diego that are smog exempt. So I'm assuming his area is the same way.
