Vacuum Pump for Rent?

Anyone know a good place where I can rent out a vacuum pump to use on my a/c system?

Go to HVACR parts house like Johnstone, not autozone or pep-boys and such

If you open the high pressure side, won't it mostly self-evacuate? Not an AC guy, so....

i bought one from a Autozone or Kragen don't remember, it was NOT a A/C pump however a brake bleeder pump, puts PLENTY of vac on an A/C system though, used it on a couple cars...
Just took an old A/C charger (the blue hose that quick connects to the car) and cut off the CAN side, whatever brand doesn't matter, the ID of the hose was the same as the brake vac pump i bought, its a hand pump so it takes some forearm and time but works just the same...

oh the one I have isn't a rental, it was 50 bucks to buy or less...
i belive it was a Brake Bleed kit (vacum style)

I used a aircompresser and used a harborfrieght one.. Nothing spectacular, but gets all the crap out. then bought a cheapo gauge set and filled up with freeze12. If you need it man i could invite you over but i just been busy.

My setup was ice cold til the drier blew up because i topped off too much freeze12.

i used to be a commercial HVACR Tech/install but I cant remember who borrowed my vacuum pump for auto lol

I have one of those venturi ones from harbor freight too. Thing is though, I don't know if they'll pull enough of a vacuum to get all the water out. My a/c lines have been exposed to air for about 5 months, and it has probably rained 4-5 times at least since January.

Austin, did you pull a vacuum on your system after exposing the lines to the atmosphere? How long did you let it run? How cold's your a/c?

you have to look at the manifold gauge. you should pull below 0 microns to ensure that it is clean (beside, if you can pull this much, it means no LEAK). i feel evil today so thats all i can say

sorry i havent replied.. i left it on for a few minutes, i cant recall.. then kept the lines closed from atmosphere with the gauge-set valve, then hook up freon bottles and run car.
