Not just hype... I like 'em simply because there are parts on most enthusiasts cars that can't be insured. I once had a hot civic hatch stolen and stripped and I learned a lot about the valuation process. If it fits in their framework you can get money back for it (IE fancy wheels). Problem is that is is no suspension category. No custom ported motor category... No hardened transmission internal category. You get the idea. Hell, I had a b16a that was worth 4x the SOHC factory motor and it was worth $0 on their framework. I fought with them for the better part of a year but finally taking it one level higher would have been more expensive than settling so I caved.
The only way around the uninsurable parts issue is to have your car appraised in advance like the classic car owners do. However, that drives your rates up so it's a catch-22.
Lojack is supposed to be doubly effective because they don't advertise it's there. Crooks run the risk of having their whole chop shop broken up if a car gets traced to them. Usually it's easier to steal it and park it somewhere so they can see if it's still hot. If your car's so equipped you have good odds of getting it back whole during that cooling off period.

I'm William and Johnson's brother. I feel bad because there were so many different scenarios that could have taken place. My neighbor called me and woke me up after what had already been a long day (was in johnson's car when we hit the wall earlier that evening) and said my bro's alarm was going off. I didn't go out to the street, but I looked out the front door and nothing. I wake up to another text message from my neighbor saying that the alarm is going off again, and to yells of "where's your car?!" 2010 has gotten off to a bad start so far. Sounds like a bad scene from a dude where's my car movie =\

Low Jack is well worth it guys. Pretty much every Police, Sheriff, CHP in cali have LoJack recievers in their car, as well as most of the Helicopters. If your car is stolen and has lowjack, you will get it back. The thing is, you gotta report it stolen before the lowjack is activated. this used to be a problem as your car might get stolen in the middle of the night and you might not see it till morning. This is no longer a problem with the early warning system. If your car moves so many feet without your keys in the ignition (your keypad has a lowjack fob on it) you will get a text/phonecall/email ect. You immediately know your car is stolen and report it.

I'm looking into it right now. Thanks for the help. It might be my car actually. s4 tail lights(not the 10th AE ones), replacement? door(they broke my door handles), and mazda / rx7 symbols are white. Cross fingers.
Can someone call/email this guy for more pictures?
I emailed him already, but it'll probably work with more people.

Did yours have a steering wheel like that?

it's been 2 weeks, that's enough time to change a number of things on the car. The only way to check is through VIN and little details that are not easily hidden/removed.
