well everyone.... unfortunatly, my motor has been pulled out once again.... only this time, the block has to be re-rebuilt the intermediate housing had a huge hole in it.... it was in a spot that should never have a problem, so dave never thought to look there....so when he went to fill the coolant up, it went straight into the oil pan... bummer... its a sad day for jesse

fear not. it is re-assembled and beautumous, once again.
i've never---EVER seen an iron crack in the place that intermediate did, so this was a shocker for me too. but in any case, i've got the block full of water right now. it hasn't gone down at all in the last hour, and i'll recheck it in the morning. it should be running again by noon tomorrow.
this was my fault for not checking the old block well enough, but like i said, i've never seen a failure like that before. jesse was very nice about my **** up and the re-rebuild will come out of my pocket this time around (even the new coolant seals ), so at least he didn't have to spend any money on it... just a minor time delay.
catastrophic failure = 1.5 day delay in the time frame
everyone makes mistakes....it's how you deal with them that defines the kind of person you are.

wasn't taking any chances this time, so i put the short block together last night, less the oil pan. then i filled the block with water and let it sit overnight. water was exactly where i left it before i went to bed
it'll go in in an hour or two, and should be running by dark. so i guess it was a 2 day delay.

car's running. got the intercooler re-mounted, boost controller on, misc. stuff buttoned up..
still gotta bleed the brakes and get smaller snap rings for the bov's. whatever company that sold those kits needs to be bitch slapped for using the wrong parts!

sup guys, hope you didnt forget about me. I finally got my ride to a frame shop and back. I've been busy....
Here's how she was, the rear quarter is toast.
Mocking up parts:
Those stock wheels look silly, I went ahead and put my friends wheels on with a better offset and are bit wider. They aren't as wide as I'm going but it at least gives me an idea.
The fun begins with cutting out the fender to fit the wider wheels
I didn't cut as much as I should have so I have to cut it again tommorow. Thats all for now.

alright... just off the top of my head, here's a list of things i've done to jesse's car...so far:
Install:
-ss fuel lines, terminate ends, fuel filter, straighten out fuel rails and injectors
-avcr boost controller
-blow off valves, modify snap rings to fit
-turbo, manifold, wastegate, studs, nuts, and related parts
-microtech ems: remove old computer, install microtech and build harness
-exhaust system
-upper intake manifold with vacuum lines and related parts, remove studs and use allen head bolts
-add gear oil to transmission, engine oil, and coolant
-finish starter install, replace one bolt
-front bumper and connect lights
-fd alternator, relocation bracket, and modified pulley
-coolant overflow
-oil catch can
-all necessary vacuum lines
-battery with custom tray
-battery leads, ground wires, etc
- battery heat shield
-gauges: oil pressure, oil temp, egt, tach, and wire all gauges to turn on and dim with accessory lights properly
-omp blockoff plate
-oil feed and return lines for turbo
-remove stock main pulley and install racing beat main pulley
-hose hangers on misc. pieces throughout engine bay
-alternator/water pump belts
Custom work and modifications:
-weld v-band on turbo
-modify downpipe (lengthern and add v-band)
-build custom fitted battery tray for pc925 battery
-build carbon fiber heat shield for battery
-wire up electric fan
-build feed and return lines for turbo
-basic tune for idle, free rev, and low load drivability
and that's not even including building the engine...ahem.....twice
