Yeah the front is repairable with replacement parts but that rear quarter is what I am worried about! The dealership said there are none available in the US so it would have to be shipped from Japan. Vipers hit it right on the head, thanks man, there is no middle with those drivers. I am just glad I was not driving the convertible or the knightsports FC or I would of really been pissed!

How do you replace the rear quarter panel? Cut it out and weld a new on in? Is that safe?

I didn't even see the damage to the rear quarter panel. I had no idea you can replace those, I thought they had to be pulled out and filled.

This is what my car looks like right now I'm sending it out this saturday

It's funny how I put on the bumper fixed the oil leak and started to pull out my FCD but put it back in all within a hour but it took me a month just to get around doing.
I need to work on my car a lot more.

Honroc that sucks Bra, is your steering all good and suspension?

The rear quater will need to be cut out and the new one welded in. There are spot welds along the inner drain channel which will be where it will be rewelded. Frame and suspension is all good, but as you can imagine it will for sure need a good alignment after all is said and done.

Congrats man! You're not reusing the J-spec block from the black s4?
All the go-fast and stop-fast goods are getting swapped over from the TII. The N/A stuff is getting sold as soon as I find out the compression numbers on the n/a block

glad to see the progress travis!! i guess ill join the progress bandwagon.... me, ray (zero83), and my buddy victor worked on the vert the past few days... got alot done

-pulled the carb crap off, got the engine down to bare block
-replaced the engine harness
-started installing the body kit
-installed the front coilovers
-rolled and pulled 3 of 4 fenders.. just need to do the driver rear still
-swapped the leather seats for the black cloth seats

after 2 days....see how low the car sits!! my foot barely fits under it!! lol..looks like i may have to raise the coilovers a bit

renton..... im giving the vert wheels to ray (zero83) for helping me work on the car... he also got the factory foglights ..sorry bbaahhhdy

and absence.... the car has a header and testpipe... i got a stock cat setup off of robert so i can put the stock cats back on.... i want this car as stock (engine wise) as possible... minus a catback exhaust

did u want to go back to stock? or just borrow them for smog? if u need to borrow them, ill lend them to u.. they are just sitting right now..wont need them for probubly 2 weeks or so

Thank you but I need a backup set for smog, yes. I just smogged my car back in December so I have a long ways to go until I need to do it again. I'm looking for an extra stock setup to swap in so I won't have to resort to pulling the setup off my brother's car every time.

Sorry Renton but I blame Jesse. Helping him with his FC just makes me wanna dump all my extra money into mine

So I should be getting my coilovers and front lip within the next week or so. Anyone have any suggestions on which lip would go with some kaminari skirts?? I'm thinking Mazdaspeed, but really havent decided

mac... actually... i didnt use a heat gun... i figured since im just spraying the car flat black until i get her painted, chipped paint didnt matter.... BUT, as it turns out, the paint didnt chip at all on the rear..lol.. the front wasnt so easy.. it chipped right along the edges

re drifter.... i need the turn signals

zero83..... hahahahahaha... nice on the blame game but im glad you got the bug to mod your car

Ray you have another 7? S5 I take it since your looking for a Mazdaspeed lip. I need a lip too for mine but the only Mazdaspeed lip I know of that's for sale it frome Corksport and it's $200

I want to do something ghetto and grab a used front lip out of the trash at work (Audi, Porsche) or do the Home Depot thing and make it out of garage door rubber.

Its actually a S4 but the guy I bought it from changed alot over to S5...tails, bumper, moldings. The lip from corksport is a bit expensive but I can't really find any used ones
