I likeded them tooooo...... once they warmed up. :-/
I rode with Jesse 20 minutes before I go to take my laps, and WOW it was grippy. I didnt realize that his tires are much like my R-comps... they dont work when cold. I expected a street tire to act like a street tire.... just fine when cold, even better when warm. but nope... after 20 - 30 minutes of cooling, they were stone cold, and not working at all..... now I know.

^^Very nice....I really like the hanooks I'm running....very nice. Only a 200 wear tread....but effective on this mountain roads!! We will see how there are on Adam's track though.....me being a rookie....lets see what this combo will do!!!

I sure wish I could take my car out on Tuesdays. I'll be done with my Tuesday classes before my Sunday classes though, so I'll probably compete in a Tuesday event or two in a couple months.
There sure were a lot of RX-7s out there judging by Casey's pictures.

These were my favorite, in order of least to most.
How is the starting line set up? Is it like a drag race style where you have to dump your clutch in first gear, or is it set up like autocross in that you don't need to get going as fast as possible? The only way I would ever compete would be if I didn't have to thrash my car around.

SS (Sexy Seven) Update:
After some time in narrowing down why the fuel pump wouldn't come on, I found out the ECU is faulty. Talking with the tech at the manufacture who made it, they determined that I should send it back. My fuel pump relay wasn't kicking on, and the tachometer gauge wasn't working on the car(it was off and on but the ECU display was working perfect) They told me that if that circuit(on the ECU) was bad then both of these items would be bad. Which they are(on/off). For starting up purposes I just grounded the relay with a jumpier wire. Car rounds good(idle-revving)....but pulling the EMS out and sending it back to Virgina today!!
I did figure out a intake/air filter set up for the car until the cold air intake is finished. I used some HD flex ducting(5" worth), and connected it to the HKS high flow air filter. Works really good...solves the air filter issue!! Air intake temps were 76F(65F ambient)...when cruising. I took a small drive locally to feel things out....see if I get any more leaks, issues, etc. I will not be able to drive it till the end of next week, when I get the ECU back. Then I will be taking to the dyno for base tune.

Jason, no hard lanching at all.... just get moving, you take a lap to warm up the tires, then the next lao is the one you want to give it the beans.
in reality you get 2 1/2 laps, but only one is really counted as the tires are warmed. pretty neat really. its rerally no harder on a car then an autocross....
the big change is at an autoX you spin and you might hit a cone.
here... I gotta be honest, there are places you could hurt the car. from hitting a tire, to going off course and hitting something a little more major. but as long as you drive within reason you should be fine. Jesses car went through two drivers (7 sets of those 3 lap burst) and all was fine. the only problem was when I hit that tire. but now that I know his car a lot better, I can tell you that will likley not happen again. (it was first lap, first turn). I hit the tire pretty good, and there was really no damage to the car, just a mangled license plate.
