Been busy lately but I dissambled the motor and it needs a rotor and housing. Side plates are great so I will reuse and port them. I think a peice of carbon killled the rear rotor.
I have decided to keep the car and do a manual swap to it. Will also put in the cheapest standalone I can find, probably a mega squirt and bridge port the motor.
It will probably take me a while but thats the plan.

That dyno sheet looks like a seismograph. It's jumping 5hp within a couple hundred rpm's in a pattern almost. The way it drops at 5k looks like a piston motor.

Looked it over and I didn't find anything as to wear the oil was going. I am just going to keep a better eye on it.
As for the rotary engine, unless I can repair the coolant seal side wall I am going to have to trash two of the irons.

Hey Jason, you made good horsepower for a S4 na engine. I hate to tell you but Street porting a 6 port engine does not get you anymore horsepower. The only thing you can do is adjust your tps, and change the plugs. IIt would not hurt to have the injectors cleaned.
Thanks Robert

will, did you ever look to see if you had those small interior parts?
I am now broke due to my recent purchace, but I will gladly buy you and your girl lunch at the next meet if you dont want the tranny anymore.
when do you want to get rid of the car? (or did you already?)

Jason, 110 h.p. to the wheels on a car that pulls 148 to the crank when it was new on its best day, is not bad. that means you are losing 38 h.p.
most of that will be lost in transition to the wheels, so 25 or 30.
which would mean the other 8-13 h.p is simply due to old seals, dirty intake, hot day, old plugs, old wires, old injectors.....
sounds about right to me. :-/
and Rob is right, porting a 6 port does not do much. is it worth doing if your building your motor anyways. yes. but dont expect a major h.p. gain. its just the nature of 6 ports.

Yes I still have the parts but I really don't have time to pull out a tranny. I will have the car for a few more weeks.
Are we still doing the run that we mentioned last meet

well it has its flaws..like a the paint is chipping on the right corner of the rear bumper but no damage. the ac center vent is broken.the left rear taillight is cracked.the antenna doesnt go up.besides that its in good condition. it has and HKS hybrid air filter and a new alpine deck.its been serviced at the palm springs Mazda a few times.the interior and the extrior are is goos shape besides those flaws.this is the only pic i got right now.
