so my car might be totalled???pics

since my car was only bought for 3,700$ i figured the insurance company would think of my car as totaled. anyone have an idea if they think it might cost $4k to fix it.

need new headlight motor, and probably a new frame for headlights, new hood, new front bumper, new FTP lense, and new turn signal, and drivers, and maybe pass side fenders to be fixed.

goodies....

Definitely totaled. The phrase coming to my mind right now is- "Junk It!" PM Wackyracer for his free tow service.

i was heading down fountain ave(west hollywood, no im not gay) cruising way below speed limit he decided to cross traffic, no light on intersection, while traffic was still flowing, causing that guy ahead of me and next to me to slam on their brakes, he pops his little thunder bird out, i slam on my brakes and.......WHAM, their goes the 7. oh and my brakes got fucked up cus when i pull my e brake i cant even click it once before its fully engaged, so i think my brakes and dragging on my rotors..

i would never junk my car. if they total it im buying it back and parting it out.

the odometer just turned over to 64k on original engine, and the interior is flawless, except for my center dash trim. i could make my money back from buying the car back, and maybe then some.

No way your car is totaled. When i got my 90 FC it had similar damage.

Heres what you need, new front bumper, new headlight cover (maybe the whole assembly) driver side fender, maybe a hood cant tell from pictures, and then your done.

If the front frame support is bent, i could prolly bend it back out by hand, and if not by hand a small sledge with light pounding (and it would look as if it was never touched) Its really not very bad.

And insurance company is gunna charge you a lot to fix it, or at least there estimate will be high. If yuou do the repairs by yourself it will be easy, and fast and a hell of a lot cheaper. trust me!

it would be totaled with OEM parts however you can save it by requesting Aftermarket parts or salvage parts.

and if they still total it by its ACV

then ask your insurance that you want to "keep the car" and ask for them to cut you a check for the value of the car now in the market.

by then you have to come out with the rest of the balance it needs extra in repairs from whomever fixes the car.

that paint looks clean and i can image the rest of the car too... i hate to see that go....

maybe i can help you

They will total it but if you bitch and moan they may just pay you the estimate amount. The frame ra il on the left is definitely separated and buckled by the first bolt of the subframe, the car is ben t.

the accident was not my fault, i dont have to pay a dime, although i doubt my insurance will go up enough to make me want to hack job this lol.

i really want a tII, if they dont say its totalled im gonna get everything fixed(accident wise) and sell it, or trade it for a tII cusi want more power.

if i do fix it i will be putting mostly all aftermarket parts and then paying a good shop to fix it and install/paint everything. this car is not a piece of **** enough to DIY.

My cars exterior is super clean (besides paint.. it could use paint i think IMO) you cannot tell it was ever in an accident.

have you ever changed your oil before? its about that easy, its all nuts and bolts. dont fix them, replace them. its really pretty easy. theres walkthroughs on how to take off fenders, and bumpers and stuff like that.

"Thats wonderful" you are the "Claiment" of the accident. most definetly they are going to fix your car. You did not ask for this accident nor does any claiment does.

theres a chance they might cut you a check for the new FC to buy at its market price.

its up to you... TII's are hard to find. i got really lucky to find one for 650 bucks 4 years ago.. in irvine..

you cant just unblot fenders then blot them back on, you have to know how much pressure to put on each bolt cus it will bend the metal. i used to be in auto in school(one of the best in the country) and my friend was in auto body and we fixed my friends fender....its not that easy. im sure you are probably good at it, but im not.

case settled dont try and talk me into doing it myself, or paying you to do it. mazda will do it, cus if they screw it up, i know i can get them to fix it till its right, or do it right the first time.

5spd, tII or na turbo, i really dont want a maroon interior, but if it makes up for it under the hood, why not.

san diego, la area within 150 miles. maybe 200. thanks for the help.

take a couple pictures of the radiator core support and the unibody frame rails from both inside the engine compartment and underneath.. if there is any visual damge there then it will probably be totaled...

if there is no visual damage then it should be fixable, just make sure that the insurance company makes sure that if they do not total is because there is no "visual" damage to the unibody doesnt mean that it is slightly bent and still needs to be put on the fram jig to have it pulled into spec

Im not saying FIX the fender..Im saying buy a new one... it unbolts. its really easy. i think theres a total of like 16 10/12 mm bolts and then it comes off.

Im confused...

Even if you just replaced all the parts, and didnt paint it, it would be worth more then, than it is now.

sorry i meant,

i want it to look as if it were brand new, if i were to get it fixed. once something gets broken, IMO i dont want it back, even if there is nothing wrong with the new parts. i would rather sell it and get something new.

but im gonna sell this car no matter what. im probably gonna hit, rx7pro.com and get his headlights, and one of his bumpers with a lip, paint it, get the core frame fixed, and for sale it goes.
