i wonder what they will do with pre-1976 cars that are field testing gross poluting. even though they are exempt from the bi-annual smog testing, they are still required to keep any and all smog equipment installed and functional..................................

Man I love Cali, there's no where else like it, but its really becoming a shitty place to live. Between this and the recent "crackdown" on any car with visible mods, I feel like I'm living in a communist state because of my hobby. Cali will always be a special place in my heart but I'm getting the hell out of here at the first good opportunity. I'll go destroy the ozone over Oregon or something.

what annoys me is the fact that they just assume anything that doesnt pass smog is a clunker. excuse me, but my car is NO clunker.

GRR WHY! there should be a special exempt for rotary vehicles. We arent like other piston motors. we work differently. There should be like a 1,000 dollar get out of smog free forever fee, for pre 96 owners since its beyond us why the motor puts out a larger amount of smog. Besides theres not that many of us in comparison to normal cars on the road.
I think im way more fucked then most people here... My car was sitting for a year...and it was stolen for 4 months. and i had to get the engine rebuilt when i got it back and its single now with no cats so its loud as hell and im driving around with tags from 03!

they consider all internal combustion gasoline engines equal phatmanbud. no exemptions for us rotorheads, we put out emissions too. when the car was new it had to pass california emissions, today it needs to pass too. CA wants cleaner air and they're going after cars now.
targeting high emission cars specifically. typically old clunkers, but not necessairly. but we all know we can make a new car put out high emissions if we remove it's smog equipment and it's out of tune..........
