Talking Shop Recommendation for Painting Brake Calipers: Makito @ Shine Auto Project

I picked up used a set of Rotora BBKs recently and decided to paint them in a different color. Should anyone is interested in getting their brake calipers properly painted, here is my thread about the project

Practically almost brand new with less than 1000 miles



The caliper completely disassembled





Prepped for new paint using 600 grit sandpaper and ScotchBrite around the crevices





The custom high sparkle gold paint that we are going to use for the base coat

To give it a unique look, we headed over to Instyle Graphics in Torrance to get some new vinyl decals made in "JDM Chrome"





We used the leftover BASF clearcoat from car's complete paint job to give it a deep a glossy shine



After 3 coats of gold base, decals, and then 2 coats of clear, here are the results under flourescent lighting:

If you disassemble and prep your own calipers and provide a base coat paint, Makito charges $40+ to paint calipers and below are the contacts information should anyone be interested in a similar project

I thought Makito was in Gardena at Seven Apple. is he not there anymore?

Yea Makito does a good job, saw some of his work at Shineauto....

Thats probably a very long time ago. Now he operates out of Shine
