You konw what you should do, complain to the officer, then to his supervisor, then to the supervisor's supervisor. and so on. This stupid cop will more people taking a closer look at his actions. Just ask each of them to take 10 minutes to hear your statements. And bring the before and after photos with you. and receipts and everything.

Remember, **** falls down the ladder.

definitely take that to court they may not see it this way but I know most of us do..as harrassment. I could have sworn that cops usually had to mark the tires of the vehicle in violation to make sure that it wasn't a false call. And even wait a day or so. I know that they did in riverside. Make sure you record everything that you do (paperwork wise) and get the money you spent back. You shouldn't have to pay a dime. good luck.

That's total bullshit bro, I hope you get it out without having to pay anything out of pocket. You've already wasted enough of your time by driving back and forth when you shouldn't even have to. Good luck.

man!

you should collect yourself. has to be hard at this time but organize your thoughts and contact that local cbs investigative reporter:
http://cbs2.com/goldstein

i imagine if you write to him in a clear manner about your awful exeprience he might write a story on it and help you figure out what your rights are.
just off the top of my head it seems like initial prejudice from a neighbor, but for why? the kind of car you drive? crazy!

Car cannot remain on the street in the same spot for > 72 hours. If a car is reported as abandoned, the copper has to slap a bright orange warning on the windshield that says move it in 72 hours or it'll be towed.

Now, I have seen a truck get towed much quicker. A ford truck was parked by my house in Redodo Beach and left 8 months prior. Filthy and covered in bird dung. It was owned by a neighbor's friend and I figured 8 months was enough. I called it in, the parking enforcement guy came by and had it towed on the spot. In this case it was obviously abandoned, unwashed, spider-webbed, and an eye sore. Your car was not in that shape.

yeah i did move my car the day before it got towed, I daily it lol.

Today i paid for the release fee at the sheriffs station was $93
Then went to Bobs Towing paid $165
as iwas coming up to my car, i rembered they ripped off my bumper.
I checked my bumper, and it has cracks from where it mounts from the bumper to the fender. Also, the wiring to the turn signals, is RIPPED out. So I complained to bobs Towing, and took pictures. I told em, they better fix it. I also said you guys owe me a new bumper. Then they got a call in saying asemi truck flipped on the freeway, so they got hella busy and tehysaid to leave mycar there, and tehyll talk to the manager to see what theyll do and tehyll call me back.

So I let it go for abit and left, I hope their guna buy me a new bumper and rewire my turn signals, I mean they straight up ripped the wires out of the turn signal housing! Before they towed my car, my front bumper was in A+ imaculate condition I had just bought that bumper new and painted it. Now where it mounts is all cracked on the outside, and where the screw bolt on to thefender is torn.
So i guess when he towed my car, he just thought damn its too low,and then rips off the bumper.. The clerk ladysaid the tow truck man that towed mycar ended up with a heart attack last night, so hes in the hospital. so wtf. did he get a heart attack when I yelled at him yesterday? jk lol man.. so Im keepinga ll this for evidence in court...I also see the burn out the cop did on my street. Im guna shoot pics of the tire marks he made.

I mean to me a abandoned car would be missing rims, would be hella dusty or dirty, would be missing pieces, and it would be there for along time.

Mycar is clean, dailyed, stil had all its parts on it,.

yeah puhpaper, I like that idea, call and report mycar stolen lol.

damn.. so much hassle, i tried to complain today at teh sheriffs station, the watch commander wouldnt come out to see me, was waiting for along time so Ijust paid the $93 and left,[maybe the watch comander was eating dohnuts in the office]
Fluck.. Im guna document evrything today, and tmrw go to file it to smallclaims court.
one question where do I go to a small claims court? is it same as normal traffic and criminal courts where u go pay off ur tickets?

no way

ok happened to me twice the tow company scratched my car by putting the straps over the bumper . they paid for it . nother tow company scratched my bike they paid for it. get it to a body shop and hand the tow company a bill tell them if they don't fix it it's court time.
second talk to the officer incharge see if they will pay the tow fee's that made a mistake they should deal with it

Wow, that sounds exactly like some bullshit that would happen in SF. They towed my 7 one time then put the temporary no parking sign up after the fact. Good luck fight the power. SF collected $50 million in parking fines last year alone and yet they can't fix some potholes.......

"one question where do I go to a small claims court? is it same as normal traffic and criminal courts where u go pay off ur tickets"

Traffic is criminal court, Small Claims is Civil. Located in the same court house, but probably in a totally different part of the building. Just go to the court house and ask around.

One thing to check if you were parked legally otherwise, is there any ordinance about parking on the street a given day due to street sweeping or the like? If so, even though that is usually only grounds for a parking ticket, they might lean on that one to justify the removal of your car.

The cool thing about Small Claims is no attorneys allowed. You win, you also can get your court costs refunded.

Also, keep in mind that you have two separate entities to file small claims against and you are limited to (I believe) a maximum $5,000 per claim.

One claim against the Tow company (damage to your car) if they drag their heals compensating against you estimate (get three to keep their debate of how much is fair to a minimum and tell each repair shop to be REALLLLY picky).

A separate one against the LA County Sheriff (I believe that is who covers Walnut) for causing the unjustified removal. On the latter, go for not only refund of the $93 release fee and the tow fee, but also for loss of use (written evidence of costs incurred for substitute transportation), loss of wages for any time you couldn't get to work because you were without transportation to get there, and any other cost you can even remotely call related. Load it on.
