She is right about some things, she is dead wrong about other things. I don't care what anybody else has to say about it. I have been in the grey market scene for quite a few years, and seen people come and go. I do know that the NHSTA, DOT, and EPA keep a close eye on Kaizo Industries, their containers, and all the stuff they do.
They have even visited their facility many times, and several members of the DOT, and the team that were involved in the crash testing of the R33 GT-S for Motorex (including the famous Sean Morris) were all involved in making this thing as legitimate as it is. This is the closest thing you will get to getting a GT-R, right now.

I already told her it's not a nissan, like she said.
LOL! at mannyvidal. It is still not a rotary though, and really, i am sad =(.
But, if everything goes well, next car is a Kaizo Rx-7, brand spankin' new 2009 or 2010 Kaizo Rx7 Body.

idk about the yellow one in the pics but id guess if it is here in CA it is not a nissan skyline.

The Yellow R34 is also a Kaizo GT-R. He is a friend of mine, and i saw that yellow 34 when it came in as a shell 1 1/2 years ago. The owner happens to own a car dealership here in southern california, and has California dealer plates. Not that it matters.
Here are some better pictures of the car (what a transformation).
The car also competed in the 2007 Sport Compact Car challenge as well. It is the famous yellow Focus Auto Sales R34 GT-R.
The 2 Grey S15s (I think those are what you are talking about) also came in the same method. They came in as modified kaizo shells.
The Purple GT-R you saw was a 32? If it was heavily modified, then that car is in fact a non-registered, track only car. It was a shop demo car in japan, and brought here. Was driven on the street only 2 times as far as i can remember with japanese plates.
Enjoy!

^^ wow, that looks pretty real to me!. the driver was in the advanced class fooling around with a guy in an alfa which kept blowing out his brakes, haha.
the skyline at the dragstrip was the fastest car for the day 10.4 i think. kinda put the muscle cars guys in line
it was trailered in so i doubt it had plates.
hey gene was this your job for the day, pole dancing?

That is a REAL Nissan Skyline GT-R. But too bad it really is....illegal to drive on the public street. Nor will it pass smog anytime soon.
The owner is a mechanic for GMG Racing (porsche racing shop/facility). He used to work for Tomei/Nismo Omori Factory, and have his own shop called garage bomber in hokkaido, Japan. He tunes a lot of GT-Rs here in so cal, and can tune some other platforms as well, as well fabricate anything. His name is Aki Fuchigami.

fast as hell!
I was there with meiogirl that day... he was the quickest car that day to my knowledge and I am pretty sure was banned forever after that last pass. The musclecar guys weren't so happy about that, my Nova driving buddy was upset because a 'ricer' (not the bad kind, mind you) was the fastest that day. So much for "street legal drags"
EDIT: Garage bomber... that rings a bell. I think he had their logos wrapped around the car.

Yeah, that was his shop (Garage Bomber) demo car back in japan. He used to do a lot of drag and circuit racing, and a lot of wangan nasty as well.
His passion is GT-Rs, Nissans, and Porsches in general. He has a Red 240Z (Fairlady Z) that has an L28, Mikuni Carburators, 3.1L Stroker kit and a Nitrous Oxide (he told me it was a mid 11 second drag car). His daily driver in Japan.
But one car he did build was a purple FD3S drag car back in japan. Bridgeported 13B-REW with a Trust T88 Turbocharger with a good shot of nitrous oxide (he loves the stuff for serious drag/power cars). he said something like 700 horsepower. I have a picture of it on this catalogue flyer he gave me (i have it somewhere)..... But the customer was an idiot, and did not know how to take care of it, and kept blowing the motor. So, he kinda stopped working on rotaries.
