Rotary Reliability in Santa Ana
Thinking of using Rotary Reliability to replace my stock turbos, + maybe some other upgrades. (ECU, fuel pump). Would appreciate inputs from anyone who has used these guys recently with regards to their quality of work, fairness and cost reasonableness.
I'm in Orange County - are there any other shops I should be looking at for this work?
Thanks
Dave

3R (aka Rotary Reliability) is the ONLY professional shop I'd take my car to.
I've been going there for over 15 years. Exactly for their quality of work, fairness, and cost reasonableness.

3 R has actually been a big discourage to me recently (and i used to work there..!!) i left my t2 drivetrain there for a little while and in the mean time i was looking for a place to keep it..i had a like new clutch and pressure plate, t2 flywheel, t2 tranny, t2 driveshaft..and the diff. i kept at my mom's house (witch got stolen btw.)..well, needless to say...they dont even know what happened to the clutch or the flywheel..they let my driveshaft get taken with scrap metal (i dont know how you **** that up..) and all i came out with was the tranny..im not bitter or mad about it. just disappointed, i mean they knew it was mine why would they just let it go like that? i dont know. the stuff can be replaced but i dont see why i have to pay more money for the **** that i already had..venting complete.

I recently went over there and their shop is like 100 times cleaner , which it makes sense since now they're doing a lot o nice cars including 250K built Porches and 3 Rotor 700HP set ups.

Is this RR&R off Beach Blvd?
If so, I've got nothing but good things to say about them. Had my car tuned there last year when Steve Kan flew in. I might try Nelson next w/ a new setup as I've heard a lot of good things about him.

I've taken my car there on more than one occasion.
The fellas that work there are really honest, and aren't looking to "gouge" anyone with work that they don't need.
I really felt a good caliber of customer service with my experience.
As far as pricing is concerned, I feel like they're pretty fair, if something's going to cost an arm and a leg - they'll tell you up front that it won't be cheap.
They're the kind of guys that do their best to make sure your engine's in as healthy shape as possible. Knowledgeable staff, and friendly.

Well my friend Jose Gallegos took his red TII to lucky 7 to swap one block to another stock block and when he got on the 605 the car catched on fire because the oil feed line from the turbo was loose, and they still charged him $1100 just to swap one engine to another , so that to me is not budget friendly, so once again.........
Good labor aint cheap , cheap labor aint good.

Jose is our friend and I just spoke to him. He towed his car away from Lucky 7, because he did not want to run the engine before you tuned it. While idling his car on his front driveway unattended, a fuel leak lead to an engine fire.
He did not blame us, because all we did was install the engine into the car, and never ever started it. We did not get to test the car (per owner's request) like we do all of the cars we work on.
So...
