Reno, NV Rx7 Meet
#26
Would anyone be willing to help me pull my engine in my FC this Sunday? I don't really have money, but there will be a BBQ and beer haha
If you could help me out (I'd seriously appreciate it) please PM me or call/text 775-770-0989

Thanks, Ben. I do remember the decarb recommendation and am off to Auto Zone tomorrow to see what they have. And I have done the dreaded run from Reno to Vegas four times in my RX7. The last time was last year. It was at night so I could fly and didn't have to see the ghost towns too much, especially , Luning - ick, no offense to residents there who own RX7s, of course. But I see your point about not stopping the engine if it's a really bad carbon build up. I don't want to be stuck out there. Spent a weekend at the Clown Motel in Tonapah with a dog, ornery cat, and a wonderful gal after the automatic belt tensioner went on an ancient Town & Country I was using to move to Reno. Ended up fixing it myself, but I do not want to repeat the experience, if possible.
So, it may be nuts to try and drive it down there, but I just never shipped an engine and not sure the best and cheapest way from here to there (haven't hit the lottery yet). I've studied the factory manual and Haynes and I know I can clear the engine of a lot of stuff but don't trust myself to full removal and reinstall. If I don't have luck this weekend, I'll follow up with other posts to this thread. regarding help with that.
Thanks for all the help from you and everyone. I'll start with the flooding procedure again and move from there. Good times. Marc

Summit Racing has some cruise in nights on Friday nights from 6pm to 9pm. How does that sound? They have one on June 7th.

The more the merrier, I also have a couple people already confirmed to attended. Summit Racing has meets almost every Friday night during the summer and I am hoping to make it a monthly thing for us to go as a group.
