I posted about this car a while ago. It's starred in several "parts car" and "parts 4 sale" posts.
She was my first. And I liked her a lot despite the many things that were wrong with her. The paint was crap, the suspension was crap, it leaked in several spots, the motor went out after only several thousand miles of owning her, the interior was all fucked up, etc...etc...etc..... But while it was still running, damn that car was fun to drive. It was a lot lighter than my verts.
I had every intention of fixing her up. That's why at first I bought a seven that was falling apart. I wanted to restore a zombie to something to justifiy it's original glory.
But the thing was, I couldn't register the car. It was a bunch o' bull ****, and I couldn't get a title in my hands, I couldn't register it, couldn't sell it, couldn't drive it..... So I pulled every little tiny part off of it, and chopped the frame. The frame will be dumped off at the recycling company where my mother works. That metal might just end up as part of the new bridge they're building.
Many of the parts I've already sold, fenders and bumper were the FIRST things to go, lol....
I didn't want to destroy her, really.... but there was just no room for a car that would be such a hassle. So, it was recycled.

oh I believe you, Wacky. My garage used to be in complete piles. But I could find parts! But never could I find my damn tools, not the ones I needed 'right now.'
The only reason all the parts are in boxes is because I just moved.
Post it? What, my parts? I have, they're in the classifieds.

i gave it a thought, but came to the conclusion that I just don't have the time/money/space/motivation for a track-only car. I'm a poor that tries to live like middle-class. I don't really think I'll ever learn how to drive 'real' auto-x, and I doubt I'll ever actually have the money to entertain the reality.
When my roommate came home with his newly purchased rx-7 a year or so ago, (the red one in the 1st pic) I quickly fell in love with the car. For a long time I had been wanting a fun little two seater, but most two seaters had too many turn-off's. (I think the only other car I'd've ended up getting was a celica, MAYBE a 240) As I learned more and more about this rx-7 he had brought home, I knew I wanted one too. I searched for a long time, and grew impatient after a while. At that point I just decided, **** it, I'm buyuing the next piece of **** I can drive home, and I'll fix it up. I figured having to work on a pile would be educational, and a valuable experience. But I made the mistake of buying one without a title.
The guy I bought it off of, had purchased it from a tow-company. He never registered the car, simply drove it around. He sold it to me a few months prior to the expiration of the tags. I mostly liked it because it was the first black coupe I had taken a look at, and all. But he still had all the paperwork from the tow-company that you're supposed to bring to the DMV. I figured, to hell with it, I would just fill in my info where he was supposed to put his, and it should be cool. Well, the DMV said "no way, he has to fill this out." They gave me the "replacement title app" crap, and I went home only to discover that I'd lost all of this guys info. I couldn't remember his name, number, or anything.
A few people just told me "forge it, you think a secretary being payed $9/hr will give a ****?" - but by the time that came around, I had decided I was finished with that specific car, and I wanted another. The engine was dead after only ONE good run thru the hills, and I wanted to DRIVE dammit. This car taught me that I'd rather be the one to break the car. If I broke it, I have a lot more motivation to fix it.
I will definitely say, tho. dismantling this car part by part really was educational. I really got to figure out where everything is located, how and where the wire-harnesses run, etc. It was kinda cool. It was the first time I'd ever really taken any car so far apart to see every intricate innard.
A thought, yes, and I appreciate the suggestion, but it is, afterall, too late. The car is in peices. I had tried to sell the car titleless, but not a soul showed any interest. With the coming of the rainy season, I needed to clear the space in my garage.

and yeah, I agree, I say post the pictures of the garages! If anything, it would be humorous I think!

i advertized the car man. No one showed interest. Most people want an rx-7 to drive on the damn street. No one wanted the car, and i needed the garage space, and my landlord would not let me put the "junk" in front of the house.
