Punte Hills Mazda seatbelt recall service...
Well i took my car to Puente Hills Mazda right off the 60 FWY. to get my passenger seatbelt fixed under the recall for my 1990 rx7.
They were very nice to me, inspected the car and ordered the parts. A week later they called me to take my car in to get the seatbelt installed. They even offered a free rental car that Mazda was gonna pay for. I took the rental car and left my car there. A couple of hours later they call me saying that my "weather stripping" was britle and it may break when they try to take it off and it is NOT covered by the recall. So i said since its the weather stripping go ahead and rip it i'll just get a new one later. Couple of hours later they call again saying the new track and motor for the seatbelt was installed but my car has some kind of electrical problem and the seat belt wont retract on its own. they tested the motor and said it was perfect so that it has something to do with the elctrical harness. They recommended i take it to an electrician or have them do it, but the recall would not cover any other work. I have to pay extra for them to fix the electrical problem.
Well when i picked up my car i noticed they completly broke off my A-Pillar plastic molding and NOT the "weather stripping" so that sucks. The recall warranty does not cover that so i have to buy a new one. and the seat belt does not retract like they told me.
Overall their service was great, they were very nice and even gave me a rental car. I just wish my seatbelt worked properly and they did not break my molding.

Has anyone else had a problem with their seatbelt not working after the new motor and track was installed under the recall service?

You should complain to Jenny Craig and Curves so they can recall you. Now, its your front seats. Next your tires will go flat.

yea, marin mazda told me that my pass. side broke two times, and the drivers side once. now that it's not under warranty they want $600 to fix my pass. side, so 4pt. harness here I come. But they also told me that they are seeing a more common accurance of the competer that controls the motors are breaking, that might be your problem, but why fix them when they're probably gonna break again

i went through that, but finally got it done. they replace them as many times as necessary, for the life of the vehicle. call mazda usa (all the numbers you will need are in there)

well, they said its an electrical problem now. the track and motor is brand new. so there is something else wrong with the system. the seat belt will still work and protect. but it is no longer automatic. u just have to click it on and off. and they broke the part but said the recall does not cover that part.
their service other than that was great .
