Power FC Tuning in Nor Cal?
Does anyone know of a good tuning place in Nor Cal (SF Bay Area)? So far I've talked to Rotary Extreme but they want $500 for tuning is there a better place in the area that cheaper?

Just want to clarify.
$350 including tuning and compression test but not including dyno time which will be paid to the dyno shop.
$500 incluidng tuning, compression test, and dyno time no matter how long it takes.
It's not $500+dyno time.

i don't understand why some people are so cheap when it comes to tuning. The cost is worth every penny considering if you have a crappy tuner (not to say anyone in the above is crappy) but you can either blow your engine or not make any power if it's tuned improperly which will cost you more money in the long run

Dude chill out! I'm from so cal and had my car tune by XS before. They charged less than what i was quoted, and they're very reputable. I just want to know what other shops were around now that i've moved up here. I wanted to know if there were other shops in the area and if i was given a good deal, but you've just labled urself as a dick. Nice one

Realisticly, there are very few places that will tune a PFC, and fewer to tune a Haltech, Microtech etc. I have tried numerous times to get some of the "local tuners" to do the job(Haltech), to no avail, too busy, don't answer the phone, on and on. It seems flying folks in is one of the few options available, and this is often problematic, as ever so often, a problem raises its head, that needs a day or so to fix. In that instance, you are hung, as the tuner has to catch a flight, and you are SOL. This has happenned to me twice, partly my prep work, partly unforseeable. Anyway, Point is good tuners are really tough to find in norcal. as for Chucks rate, that is a fine deal, I only wished he tuned haltechs..... Chuck....Oh Chuck... With that in mind, I will be seeing if setting up a tuning weekend with Brian Cain in the next couple weeks is possible. I will start another thread for this. As for MSD, they are usually booked many weeks in advance, Ghetto Dave may be available in 2-3 weeks, but that's a maybe, as he is very busy. That leaves Haltech/Microtech guys with towing to Socal(san diego, LA maybe), or flying someone in. Fookintite, what happened to your Steve Kan plan? Carl Byck (looking for an AVAILABLE haltech tuner in norcal still...)
