yeah, my favorite part was when Vipers told me about the "aftermarket pullys" on his car (coming from the cop)
Vipers said "dude those are stock pullys, just powder coated"
ware is the car vipers? i didnt see the daily driver or your 7 at home when i went home for lunch. you have both at work?

anyways, at least you can make it to tomorrows meet!

just curiosity.... who is going? i got myself, vipers, scotty 305, zero hopefully, red baron, and mabe kraziekave (from rx8club) Riccio's car is in the shop, i dont think she is going to make it..... well mabe, she might bring the 3rd gen again...... hmmm. i dont know if she is coming???..... so far thats 7 people. not to bad, hope we get a couple more to show.... mabe ill start PM some people as a reminder.

Damn vipers that sucks!!! Thats one of the reasons I stay out of places like Redlands and Grand Terrace. They seem to have the cops with the big egos.

Anyway I changed the hydraulics, and no change Looks like I'll have to drop the tranny That is after the meet.

you might have a 1st gear syncro going bad, i have had this happen before. take off in second if its hard to get in first.

i cont remember the exact numbers right now( i do have it writen down at home ) but i think its something like i have been trough 6 clutches (not nesisarlay the clutch disk, i mean more like clutch disk, pressure plate, pilot bering, and throw out bering, when something failed i would replace them all)
and 4 trannys (two trannys that compleatly blew up, one that vibrated really bad, and one that someone forgot to put oil in, so the tranny only lasted me about 3 days.) 5 if you count the one still in the car, but nothing wrong with it yet.

vipers has had his share of bad luck with trannys andclutches, but i think i have him beat in that depatment.

i must say its not much fun putting the tranny back in, this is the part i dread the most. it always takes forever to get the tranny physically into the engine.

anyways, now that i vented my fustration with the 2nd gen tranny..... i feel better!

see you all tomorrow!

i drove the 7 to work today... and i hope to god my hyundai is at home........ you didnt see it???? its just my luck if its gone!!!!

oh..... well, just so you all know why its so frustrating.......... last week my 64' dodge dart was also impounded for being PARKED on the street with expired tags..... it was in impound for 2 days..... cost me about $280 to get it out...... so, this has been a shitty couple weeks!!!!

2 cars impounded...... 2 weeks...... shitty!!

looks like I will make it to the meet, I am leaving base tonight, and my fc seems to be doing just fine still, so count me in. Vipers could you spare some of those oil cooler gaskets or o-rings you had told me you had. Were the oil lines connect to the block, so see you all there.

I'll be able to make it. It will go into first, its just a little tricky. Kind of like my driver door handle, which is now fixed. I guess I should go wash all oily hand prints off the car. See you guys tomorrow.

hopefully we can do more driving next time......... that "parade" really messed up our schedule!!! it took forever to get everyone together..... then all the traffic in the area really messed thing up too!!! next time we'll plan for a longer, better, less traffic, drive!!!! i agree 100%, i want to do more "spirited" runs!!! either way, the meet was great!

Vipers, dont forget about RedBaron7, he has been to two meets also. also the guy in the white FC that doesnt talk on this post, he to has been to 2 meets. sounds like next time we dub a few regulars!

i to am one of the many that agree, as much fun as i had just hanging out talkin with people and breakfast, i really could have had a longer/funner run. that road was just way to busy. not that i need to do 100MPH through a turn with my hair on fire to have fun, it just owuld have been nice if we picked a less busy road.

anyways, thanks to everyone that showed up (including you Sylan in the mustang) i did have a blast.

nopistonracer really wanted to make it to our meet, but at the last minute he was having engine troubles. sorry you couldent make it out buddy. hope all goes well in SC for you.

theone81 also really wanted to make it, but he had to work. hope to see you next time!

as for the regulars, and almost regulars, as stated before, THANKS FOR COMING, HOPE TO SEE YOU NEXT TIME! i vote mabe a longer run next time..... mabe........ big bear!

Thanks guys - had a great time - again!

To me there's no such thing as a low traffic road in So California - except EARLY in the AM.

I know you guys hate to get up early - but, if you want less traffic - early is what it takes.
(Then, you can have a big hearty breakfast after.....)

Man, I have enough trouble getting up for the 9am meet. Although we must remember there is a few who live further than most of us. So if its like at 6 or 7 they have to get up real early. Anyway, the drive was real fun. Even though I have to take it easy, with my 4 lug breaks and open diff.

Oh yea, I thought bringing my girl would make her want a 7 even more. Now it turns out she wants an 8. She says she doesn't want to go thru everything I have with my car. I guess I wouldn't mind driving...um... I mean her driving an 8.

you know i was not real impressed with the 8's at first, then i test drove one and liked it ALOT MORE!!! but now that i own one, i love it more and more every day. the car really is impressive after you start driving it alot. its really not as slow as everyone makes it out to be. its just as fast as a Turbo II. (14.5 in the 1/4)

people say its a little slower then a 3rd gen (understandable) and is almost comparable in handleing to a 3rd gen. (they say its more forgiving to mistakes then a 3rd gen)

this is just what i have heard form fellow 3rd gen/rx8 owners.

as for my impression now that i own one..... THE CAR KICKS BUTT! the handling is amazing! and its nice driving a little bit more of a safisticated car

anyways, its no big deal Sylan, we know your a future rotory owner, your welcome to show up and hang out.

And you know what, Zero? I'd be willing to wager you can have a lot more fun working on your 2nd gen, too! I like what you have done so far, one of the reasons I enjoy the meets is to see you and see what you are doing on your car.

BTW - really liked your girlfriend - you have picked very well! (even more if since she has the good taste to want an RX8 - what more could you ask???)

Thanks Riccio, if only you could have seen the car when I first got it. Hows it going with your cym? Can't wait till you bring it to a meet. The 1 thing thats better than a regular fd is a cym.
