A few Ventura County members have been wondering if there's going to be a caravan to Seven Stock as there was in years before. With the help of forum member "gregs22", we'll get a caravan set up. Please use this thread to discuss the caravan.

WHEN: Saturday, September 29th, 2012
WHERE: Thousand Oaks, CA (Actual location TBD)
TIME: 4:00(This could change)
DEPARTURE: 4:20AM (This could change)

The idea of this caravan is to meet up with the SS-15: WORLD's Largest Rotary Caravan in Santa Clarita. They'll be meeting at 6:00am & leaving at 6:45am to WSIR. This should give us enough time to cruise on over without having to be in a rush.

Unfortunately, the day of SevenStock is the day that CALTRANS is going to be shutting down the 405 from the 101 to the 10. The Northbound 405 on-ramp shouldn't be affected (detours at most), but it would be a good idea to avoid the 405 at the 101 completely, since traffic is going to be a disaster. At this point, I'll plan a route to hit the following freeways:

In order:
101-North or 101-South (Depending on where we meet)
23-North
118-East
405-North
5-North



In total, the drive is about 55 miles & should take about 50 minutes to arrive. Again, current meet & departure time are not set in stone. More accurate times & meet location will be determined in the following days.

Also, please be sure to have your car squared away & ready for the drive! Don't forget to bring extra water, coolant, oil & premix! I'll have my "survival tool box" with me, just in case.

Any updates? My RX-7 is almost ready to go! Polishing still going on!

 

We'll most likely end up meeting at a gas station in Oxnard, right next to the 101. From there, we'll hit the 126 towards Santa Clarita. I'll post a detailed map soon.

 

HWY 126? Great for me. That brings you all closer to me. The first message says this though so is this a change in the plan?

Yes, this has changed. We will be taking surface roads through Oxnard onto the 126, then hit the 5. Less freeways & a direct shot to the caravan in Santa Clarita.

The rest of the caravan will not be able to make it, as well. Looks like I'm rolling solo to Santa Clarita.
