Ya the Z06 sounds sweet, but the C6-R.... I can't even explain how beastly it sounds haha.
I want to be able to do LSx swaps in the RX7s in the game but I doubt that will happen, I couldn't see Mazda being too happy about that.

Sorry to change the subject...Does anybody have coilovers for an FC for sale? I have cash!!!!! I bought some rims and they dont clear the front spring perch. (they are +42 offset) I just bought new Tien springs and KYB shocks so I dont really want to have to buy coilovers...

option #2 , Does anybody have some 17" rims with +40 or less offset for sale?

I could put on some spacers but I was told I will need deep socket lugs and there will always be a little shaking in the steering that you cant get rid of? Is this true? I dont kknow...

either way I am going to be spending hundreds of dollars. Thanks Tom

Thanks, I did clean out the contacts actually. They were all black. I put the swutches all back together and the windows only went down but not up. Long story short...I found a new switch from a parts car FC in Napa, county. $40!!!! its all good now. I have an extra switch that could still be fixed I guess?

I start in europe cuz it is cheaper to get the Exotics and to mod them. Plus you get them sooner. I'm going to beat the whole game anyways so all the cars will be unlocked.

And preston is right about the engine swaps you can't interchange between brands. Mazda engines only, but that doesn't mean you can't put the mazdaspeed 6 motor in , turbo 6 cylinder. Could be a possibility.

Could someone with an S5 and a digi cam do me a favor? Take out one of the screws used to hold on the horn cover for the steering wheel and take a pic? I recently bought an S5 steering wheel but I didn't get screws with it.

hey guys, what's new? I haven't really been posting much on the forum lately.. been consumed finishing up this FD, finally after like 6 months.

alright, so who's an expert on the FD sequential system? I finally got it to the point where I can drive it around the block short distances, but I noticed an issue right away. When I get on the throttle there is a massive hesitation, almost seems like the secondary injectors aren't kicking in. If you feather the throttle slowly it seems fine through the RPM range. I've read that the ECU being in limp mode has similar symptoms, still need to try resetting it in hopes that fixes it. I'm hoping it just needs the ECU restet and it's not an issue with the secondaries sticking. I had all the injectors cleaned/flowed @ Witchhunter, but I noticed a few others on the forum have had problems with secondaries sticking even after being serviced. I really don't want to tear that upper manifold off again to start tinkering with stuff.

Yup, this saturday *19th* we're having a cruise meet around Berryessa and Napa in the Vacaville/Fairfield area. Not very close to home but it should be fun.

Thanks man, it was pretty rewarding to drive it around the block after working on the thing for so long. Somewhat frustrating though to keep running into these little problems, but I suppose that's normal with such a project car.

The wheels I went with are pretty nice. I went a little overboard in the wheel dept., but I really like how they look on the car. You'll have to check 'em out in person.

Vegas sounds cool. Just think of all the $ you could blow on gambling.

Yeah I thought perhaps the MAP sensor, but I don't have a spare one to test with so I'll just do what I can for now. I have a spare fuel pump relay I'm going to try if the ECU reset doesn't work out. I'm pretty sure the double throttle isn't stuck as those looked fine visually when I adjusted the throttle cable. I guess there's a chance it's the TPS, but would the car run fine under light load with a bad TPS? Seems more like a fuel delivery/ignition problem to me, or perhaps wiring or stuck secondaries. I sure hope it's an easy fix.

I cannot say I have played it to death, but I have played it. Demo is hella sweet. I definately cannot wait for it to come out. I enjoy seeing the reaction of each component as you are driving.

yeah, will have to drop by when I come back up. My plan is to try to be up there two weekends per month once money starts rolling in again. Also, I jacked up the rent on my lazy squatter uncle since I am not in my house anymore.

Not much of a gambler, prefer to waste my money on mazdas.

At what RPM range do you start getting this hesitation?

I downloaded the Forza 2 demo... it looks pretty fancy. I am not sure I am going to be able to get into it though. Same with GT4. I tried and tried to get into it and get all those licenses etc. It just seemed like too much work to play.. not enough fun for me. I even had the fancy full lock to lock steering wheel. Forza was a little better for me... it felt a little less like working to play. However still played it for an hour or two and got sick of it.

I picked up a xbox360 for 120 so I figured I should check it out..

Good question, I can't tell exactly what RPM it starts at because right now I have my gauge cluster taken apart in hopes of fixing my non-working tach. Guesstimating, it seems to start somewhere in the 2500-3500RPM range but honestly it seems more load dependent than RPM. It doesn't seem like the 3k hesitation to me from what I remember on my old FD, it's more like a huge bog & loss of power when going WOT. Once it bog it never recovers unless you let off the gas and feather it again.

Well, I was just out there tinkering with it for the past few hours. The more I mess with it, the more it seems like the sequential system is somehow jacked up. I reset the ECU, no change. Swapped out both fuel pump relays, no change. Tried a quick test of the MAP sensor by unplugging it, the idle did fall and the engine stumbled. I did notice that when I pinched/unplugged the vac line nothing changed. I seem to recall when that vac line accidentally came unplugged on my old FD it would barely run. Is mine not acting normal? I need to bust out the voltmeter and test the MAP sensor and TPS but it's really starting to seem like the twins.

I drove it around a few times again, but couldn't really get it past that certain point in the RPM range without it bogging in any gear other than 1st. Now it almost seems like the 2nd turbo isn't kicking in, but it's been so dang long since I drove one of these I forget what normal feels like.

I guess it would help to plug in the gauge cluster so I can pull any stored codes, that's my next step.

Mike

There were 3 things that turned me over from a die-hard Gran Turismo fan into a Forza fan, being able to use your own music, not having to get licenses to do races, semi-realistic collisions damage (GT is like playing bumper cars in racing), and also the class rating system (S Class, A Class, B Class, etc). Ok that is really 4 but it was those first 3 that really did it for me.

In other news, I'm going to be an uncle!

sounds like limp mode Mike, try pulling codes like you thought. could be a bad OMP or just a stored code that was there from tinkering with it that the ECU doesn't know isn't an issue that put it in limp mode.
