So...V6 Mustangs are pieces of **** right? Well yeah they are, but they can get you from point A to point B for years without major problems.
My brother on the other hand...
Guy he bought it from had a ghetto battery terminal that wasn't even touching the battery. I told him to buy a terminal kit at Kragen for about $10. That was over a year ago.
His upper radiator house sprung a leak. He duct taped it...I told him what part he needed from Kragen and that I'd replace it for him and the price. ~$15-$20. This was 3 months ago..maybe longer
Quoting him when he and his butt buddy of a friend decide to change the oil on his car in auto class at the high school: "Nick I jacked up my car in the right spot and everything...on flat ground, etc etc...but my car rolled back and I think I put a hole in my oil pan." I decided to tell him the correct jacking point for his car isn't THAT close to the oil pan, that the car wouldn't roll back if he had used chalks like you're supposed to AND if it truly was on flat ground it wouldn't have rolled back. He gets pissed at me for chewing him out. I told him that it would be a pain in the *** job, take a lot of time, and an oil pan and gasket should run up to $200.
What does he do? He JB welds the hole, doesn't even drain the oil first, so he smeared JB weld onto an oily hole that he had. His reaction "Wow this works great it only leaks a little bit now. I don't need to go and buy an oil pan, I can just keep relayering the JB weld." I told him to properly fix this about 2 months ago.
Fast forward to today:
My brother: "Dude my car is such a piece of ****" (he's said this many times before after he breaks **** and tries to con my mom into cosigning for him for a 03' 350z-which he almost was successful at) "It like won't accelerate even though I drove it here" (Hmmm car runs that bad...maybe park it and don't drive it?) Either way he asks me to look at it....
Oil pan is still leaking, whatever I check his oil..he has enough. (He always adds some...). I look at his radiator overflow tank. Bone dry.... (After looking at his duct tape job and the coolant he has sitting on the front of his engine I decide to pop the radiator cap off even though the engine is hot) I hear a pshhh...what's this? Nothing but air? He doesn't have a single drop of coolant in his engine....so I'm betting his water pump is fucked up, but why won't his car accelerate? Well I'm not sure just yet, I don't want to drive it until he comes home with coolant, a radiator hose, a battery terminal kit, etc...needless to say maybe he cracked a head or something?
He said "Dude my temp gauge never said it was hot" So I decided to break it to him that his coolant gauge was probably taking air temperature or something since there was no coolant in his car....
So I'm trying to decide if I'd label him as a ******* retard, irresponsible, lazy, etc...
Who the **** duct tapes a radiator hose for 3 months and never even checks the coolant levels or anything???
