ok heres something to munch on- i was on my way home from school and at a red this male couple pulls behind me and starts laughing because my exhaust looks like its on speed. at the next light they look at me and are still laughing, i didnt say anything cause i am proud of my beater but i should have told them at least i drive a real car, not a ghey PT cruiser convert.

yes, you can do it out of your garage..if no one mind's at your house.
hmm..if your strapped for cash then just do a budget rebuild, thats not hard. all you would need is:
- engine lift 50bux
- good reuseable rotor housing's 200bux
- apex seal's 250bux
- all new spring's for the seal's in the rotor's.. 250bux
- rebuild gasket set..200bux
- lapping of the iron's..100bux
- couple can's of carb cleaner or c.l.r. that **** work's wonder's..for the cleaning of the rotor's. 10-20bux
- two tube's of hylomar or permatex gray sillacone..10bux
- wire brush 5bux
- two rattle can's of the color's you want your motor 15bux
all the price's are just a guesstimation...so dont quote me on it. and the engine lift you can just rent it at autozone or something like that..and all the other stuff you can find here or if you have a hookup on part's, then excercize that ****...the hylomar you can get at mazdatrix..there's actually two people selling apex seal's right now for 250..and that's a steal to me..i would pick up a set but i have other stuff to deal with right now.
