I'm rebuilding my FD motor and I gotta replace my main bearings. Does anyone around the bay area or anyone at all out there that has one I can rent from them? Or if not do you guys know any shop that has the tool for it? I'm gonna need it soon. Did I mention I was willing to RENT????

I have a shop press that I bought from HarborFreight for $112.00 I bought to use to installing my bushings. Where are you located?.

 

i've seen the press at harbor freight. I have access to a press, I just need the tool =/.

I'm gonna be replacing my bearing too within a week probably for my motor i'm building... I'm gonna try this shop my friend is friends with first, and if they can't I'll probably swing by Ricks Rotary and see if they'll do it quickly.
So ya, theres Ricks Rotary in Pleasanton that i can almost guarantee has the tools, its just if they will do it or not, And I think PR Motorsport in hayward would have the tools too.

 

I have the main bearing tool, and will be in Sacramento next weekend, pay for the gas detour and you can use it. But thinking about it, cost of the detour would prolly buy you the tool also

 

FireTora: I call Rick's pretty often to ask questions about stuff but I never asked him about pressing a bearing lol. Maybe I should call him on Monday.

Kungfuroy: I'd probably just drive down to wherever you're at and meet you there instead of paying the gas routing lol. But I don't think I'll be doing that. It's only a 2 hour drive but the way gas is now... it WOULD be just like buying the tool. Maybe even with the shipping lol. Thanks for the offer though

Well I was thinking of catching me either on my way up to sacramento, or on my way back down to LA. I looked at a map and fremont is just 20-30 off of the 5 freeway.

I work at a shop in san francisco, i can replace both main bearings for 30. I have done it a few times. I have a big set of bearing press adapters, and i have one that fits perfect. I will be there on saturday installing a bunch of suspension stuff. Sorry I can not loan the tool out. Email me at rx7will@hotmail.com if you are interested.
