Mike just doesn't like the fact that when we cruise together, I push him to drive to his potential. What can I say? My grandfather raced funny cars, my uncles raced pro-street, and I like road course/canyons (minus night time...**** is crazy!).

you have to look at is like this man. a spring by definition is designed to not "settle" and if it does well then yeah you likely got it from ebay and it sucks ***.
take valve springs for example......do they "settle"? hell no. and they are subjected to far heavier loads, temp and substantially more cycle repetition that a suspension spring will ever see.
now if you were to completely unload a cars suspension by say racking it and then set it back down there would be some suspension "settling" associated with that but that isnt because the spring is settling that is a function of friction between the tire and the shop floor. as soo as you turn the tire the weight of the carovercomes the friction and the suspension "settles"
not to mention dampers dampen spring movement and springs act in the opposite direction of gravity........
so as i said springs dont settle. the only thing they can do is wear out

I know my limitations, driving canyons at night with never having even drove them before is sketchy. You guys have to remember, I didn't grow up around here. Besides, unlike all three of you; I have a wife to think of.
As for Mikey; he appreciates it afterwards. He does it right back to me. He was pushing me so hard that I basically pulled a D-1 at 90mph. That's okay, when I start to break traction I KNOW he will.

So then you know what I mean. Driving aggressive and driving stupid are different. If looking "cool" for the guys means my wife needs to identify me by my dental records... I'll pass. Besides, I have nothing to prove.

No. As a matter of fact, I have less to worry about. My statement had nothing to do with "worry". Re-read it Jen. It says I have a wife to think of. So yes, I have a wife at home who would be devastated, if I careened off a cliff. So I think of her and the consequences of my actions before going out on a ridge run. We all don't have as stoic view of marriage as you do...

I never said I was special. I forgot Chris had a long-term girlfriend and as far as I know; Teddy and Mike are single. Your argument is moot and you actually have nothing to do with it. You're not out with us and driving with us. My statement was tailored to the situation. To insinuate that I don't realize that everybody has loved ones who would care if something happened is well...ignorant. I'm only 23, but most young guys don't go thinking of mom or Jane Rotten Crotch when they're out doing what they do. With that said, I'm married and for nothing else; I must think about my spouse.

but the way you worded your statement you made it seem like you felt you were more important because youre married.

Your reasons are as relevant as others; just not applicable to this situation. Knowing your driving history, I sure as hell don't blame you for not partaking in marginal behavior involving vehicles. As for being married, I'm not above or below anyone, my statement reflects that I am more focused on my actions due to their consequences. Hell, I worry for them almost as much. When Chris told me they had crashed (I couldn't see it was him, it was dark), I freaked and was going to bomb it up the hill to provide medical assistance.
Admission of guilt: I thought that due to our fast pace, Chris had crashed and I felt guilty.

I guess the "No Fear" adds/company worked on you. Fearlessness is stupidness, no offense. Fear is what keeps you alive. Knowing a healthy fear of something and assessing the risks is smart. I know that sounds military-ish, but it's true. Besides, you guys know full and well that I'm no timid driver.
