mint RX7s wanted at the Palm Spring Desert Classic in Feb
Hey guys,
So a representative from this car event saw my car in the lot at Cars and Coffee a few weeks ago. He said I should bring my car out and when I asked him if I could bring more he said yes.
I this morning spoke with the woman in charge of going over the online forms this morning and she confirmed that this will work.
There is a $30 entry fee and that gets you into the Corral side of the show, I believe the Concours is another $30.
Hozz and I are signed up for this gig. The woman said she could arrange space for a few more. Remember mint condition!
If you are interested sign up in the car corral section here:

Sounds like fun but... Im not a fan of paying to show off your car. If anything they should give you money for putting it in the event, im sure theyll make it back? My car is no where near mint condition anyway... good luck with the event.

Point of information, the Car Club Corral is Sunday, February 28th only. Need to have the car in the Corral before 9:30 AM. Day ends at 4PM.
Anyway, if you simply just want to attend the festivities:
"General Admission Tickets per person:
$25 advance purchase, $30 day of show purchase."
Or you can participate and park your car in The Corral
"Car Club Corral: $30 per car – includes admittance for the Driver and One Passenger. "
So, which would I rather do? Drive the Jeep out there and for the wife and I pay $25 each ($50 total) like everyone else for admission? Or drive my TurboVert, show it off and compare notes with the owners of a bunch of cool cars parked around me (akin to Cars n Coffee), and only pay $30 total for my wife and I.
More over, the event is also a charatable fund raiser. "Net proceeds from the event will be donated each year to several charitable organizations in the Coachella Valley." So the money spent is a total feel good thing.
And for showing the wife the good time in a nice setting as Palm Springs, I might even get lucky afterward.
Granted, this kind of show isn't for everyone. But that's also a bit by design.
Anyway, this sounded like getting involved and going the exhibition route is a win/win/win to me. Anyone else of like mind, looking forward to seeing you there.

thanks, I really appreciate the comment.
From my understanding we, meaning FD's are on a special invitation from the organizer of the event thus you have to get pre-cleared/approved in order to park inside????. The last thing that i want is to get treated like a second class citizen after having paid to get into the event.

Just follow the link in the OP's first post, click "participate", then click Car Club Corral and you'll see how to register for the Corral. The cut off was Feb 1, but maybe you can still slip in since the event is still almost 4 weeks away. Especially if you're going to go take photo's anyway.
Certainly, the more represent Wankle cars the better.

Hey ya try that Michael. You too Kensin. I don't know why you would think its not good enough to get in , just a nice spit shine and ready to go!
Pamela called me on the 29th, she told me she could get a few more in. The way she spoke with me on the phone it seems like getting a few more 7s in there should be easy, just might have to send her an email on the 'contact us' page.
She is the only person handing all the entries so she said to be patient with her.
Paul is the guy who originally requested the cars at cars and coffee. He was totally gaga over the idea of having 7s at the event.
I wish we could get a 1st gen in there so we had all the models representing.

Another commitment!
Fisa,
I was going to make the long drive (and it does seem pretty far) to participate, but found out that the wife has already committed me to another event on Sunday the 28th. That sucks, as this would have been one of the last events I could have attended before we move to Japan in March.
Oh well, have fun!

Don't count me out just yet. I have conferred with the Commandant, and I think she has no issues with me attending. So, I may still go.
Jesse,
Yep, I will be gone by the time you get back. I do have my GT3574 installed now. Just a few more items to correct and then off to tune!
