Mike,
Think I'll join you for the run up to Mazfest. What time do you expect to be leaving?
I went to the first Mazfest event up at Buttonwillow a few years ago. When it was held in May. Had a great time!. Actually went up for a separate Friday event and stayed over for one on Sunday, so had three straight days of track time.
Don't know if I will do the track event, though. But, I had previously done an event at the Speedway - on the ROVAL course. Quite an experience going
around those high-banked turns. Speed Ventures ran the event. Attached are a couple of shots from my time there. Nothing captured on the oval, though.
Later,
John

great!!! Hopefully as we near the date of the event we'll agree on the itinerary for the drive. I'm just waiting for some other people to chime in on this thread.
Btw people have commented on the value given for the track event for Mazfest and apparently for what one pays for track time is a over kill.
hours and hours of track time can be had with limited number of drivers. This is by far a rare occurrence in our community event.

well it looks like i'll be leaving my place from san diego to attend the event @ 8am. Looks like for those of you planning on attending the track event need to be there at the crack of dawn.
The drive to fontana looks to be about 1.5 to 2 hours.
Would love to have a few other Rotaries ride up with me so let me know guys.
thanks,
Michael

Hey Michael, it's Mike I met you at the Dave Segalla cruise a few months back. I am not coming from SD, but make sure you call me when you're settled at the venue. Is Gene coming too?

I still plan on going this Saturday. The 8:00 am time sounds fine by me, as I was not planning to run on the track this time, anyway.
Mike,
Are you heading up I-15 or I-5? That determins where I will try to meet up with you and others.

IMO-- the 5N would take us too much Westward, the best shot is clear up the 15North then on to 10 east.
Rage and I, we're both in the southern most part of SD. Perhaps we can meet up some where north of the 8 and 15???
open for ideas

Figured as much for the I-5 route. Tonight I will look at where on I-15 might be a potential meeting point. Will then post to see if that might also work for others.
