MazFest - 2005: Buttonwillow Track Day
#151
No it's not Turbo'd
It was allright, I was glad I went with speed ventures the day before, it looked very crowded, on the track, and from what I could tell the lower two classes, (Blue and White?) or something were a bunch of selfish nutcases, seemed like someone always didn't want to let others pass... :rolleye: amateurs
Not that @ speedventures it was any different, it just seemed less chaotic, we had a Porsche Cayenne, and a Honda Civic Hatchback, I was afraid of pushing the Cayenne, for fear it would roll, and the civic just had something to prove, with G35's, Evo's, Impreza's out there, not to mention a couple of 7's, he ended up getting flagged to let people bye.
A couple (2 times) people got stuck in the mud, after the rains on Wed/Thurs. and they wasted an hour pulling them out. (Bummer) but other than that it was a lot of fun, my best time going Clockwise, was 2:32
Nothing amazing, but I'm still somewhat rattled from my expeience on angeles crest... so I decided to take it easy and build on it slowly.... with 270 RWHP...

i had a blast, i dont know if it was worth 4 hours in traffic, but im glad i went. MOCC had an awsome BBQ friday night, despite the lighter fluid soaked coals. it was a true forum party with plenty of desktops by the pool.
saturday was cool and although i went up by myself there were plenty of people happy to talk about their cars and how much fun they were having too.
if you missed it this year, dont miss it next.
oh John, your taillight DOES work, its just the brake lights not workin on that one side.

Yeah, not my best weekend but at least I didn't jam the trans in 3rd gear again .
Slick runs well and will be back to track definately. As far as gettin stopped in the weeds, the throttle cable broke. A cheap $.02 washer collapsed and slipped thru a $.10 plastic fitting that attaches to gas pedal. Bummer, need to get a whole new cable but dem's the breaks.
Had fun when it was on the track.
I did geet to see and meet several great people and had an okay time overall. After adjusting my tri-link my driveline vibrations were much reduced, know I'm going in the right direction.
I think the best part of the weekend was picking up my rebuild trans from Sevens Only for REPU. Bolted it up yesterday. Yippie!.

Yup, I had a good time. I thought this was much better than last year at Laguna. (Of course being able to go WOT has a lot to do with it, no db limit) Got a fastest time of 2:23. Pretty happy with that.
