just moved to long beach
I just moved here last week from maryland. I'm living on 4th and pine. Have to say that I love it here so far. Is there anything in particular I should check out over here? I heard people don't really swim in the ocean at long beach because its nasty. What is the closest swimable beach? I went to huntington beach the other day to meet up with people but that seemed a little far. Any other local advise would be appreciated as well. I already know not to go to much more north or west though.

Welcome to Longbeach. The beaches here are not so great cause they are dirty. You might want to also check out Redondo beach and work your way north. I'm sure you already seen the night life around your nieghborhood.
