Good engine shops in California LA area?
I know alot of guys on here live in southern california, and I know it is ripe with rotary cars and rotary shops.
My cousin overheated his '90 Convertible and needs an engine. He also knows squat about cars so he needs a shop to put it in. He said he found one that will do it for about $300 but that every shop out there seems shady.
Any recommendations? Not going to go used since he can't be sure it's good, unless one of you guys has an engine and I can talk it over. I know of Adkins rotary in WA, here they do a good job. Looking for something local to LA so we can save on shipping charges and get it installed also. Thanks

Tripoint is good but expensive REnder.. they are like how the dealship should be, very knowledgable and professional.. with a price to match it.
If you say what city your cousin is in I'm sure people could recommend more specifically a shop closest to him.

Thanks guys
I completely forgot about Racing Beat and Mazdatrix, they are both really close to where he lives. And I know they have a good reputation so he doesn't have to worry about the work.

You can also contact GuitarJunkie28 Off this site or go to his web address. Seems his turnround time will be a little slow for R&Rin the engine but his rebuild times seem pretty quick (1 Week). In fact I'm taking my motor to him pretty soon here.

Ripping people off is all a matter of perspective, I've been ripped off by a local shop, yet I'm certain they feel it was all justified... And that shop had/has a great rep, it all depends on how vigilant and how much you know about your own vehicle... Be carefull and know what you're getting....
