Arrow Free Mazda Corral parking @ the Monterey Historics in August

Hey guys, I am trying to organize corral parking for Mazda owners @ the Historics, but I only have until Friday to try to sell 35 tickets. I do NOT need the money up front, but if you commit to buying X # of tickets then I just ask that you don't back out and screw me out of the money I am going to front to buy all the tickets(between $2,000.00 and $3,000.00 - it's not chump change).

If I can get close to #30 I will go ahead and buy the remaining tickets in the hopes of selling them before the weekend.

The corral parking will be FREE with tickets purchased through me and it would be awesome if we could get some RX7's with us. It used to be mostly a Miata group, but I am hoping to see some RX7's or RX8's out there with us.

Please contact me @ mhagerla@comcast.net if you are interested in getting free corral parking with advanced tickets purchased through me. The alternative is to be forced to park way up over the hill overlooking the grandstands, which is a really F'n long walk to the track. We will be parking @ Turn3 next to the Porsche and BMW clubs.

Check out my post on miataforum for additional info. or contact me via email:
http://forum.miata.net/vb/showthread.php?t=187723

Thanks!

Mike

Thanks for signing up Matt Koball - glad to see at least one rotary out there with us!

Just fyi everyone - the western region mazda advisory council rep is helping me negotiate with SCRAMP to allow us a corral regardless if I get the required #35 tickets sold. However, as I stated I need to put the order in on friday so if you are on the fence, now is the time to decide as you will ONLY get corral parking down by the track if you order tickets through me. The alternative is to park with the general public way up on over the top of the hill overlooking the grandstands and that is a REALLY F'n long @ss walk up and down to the track.

Come on out - we want to see some bad@ss rotaries out there!

Thanks,

Mike, aka "viper chaser"

All of the car club corral parking has always been in the dirt, unfortunately, but it is right next to Turn3 at the track - easy walking up to the corkscrew, or over to the infield. We will be right next to the Porsche and BMW clubs - the Ferrari club is closest to Turn3, but we will only be maybe 5 rows back, nearest the exit of Turn3.

Will your car get dirty, yes it will. I bring a Cali duster and a bottle of Mequiars detail spray and some microfiber towels to clean the car after I leave the track. Some people hit the local car wash up. Whatever floats your boat, but unfortunately only the marquis cars will get parking on the paved infield area, which is Cooper, ie tons of Minis. I have parked there before and even there your car will get very dusty - nobody is safe

37 tickets sold - order is in. I wish more rotary guys would have joined us, but maybe next year - I will be working with Mazda to get a big tent, catered breakfast and lunch and plenty of chairs for everyone - I will notify you guys in early 2007 about the details.

mark your calendars for next year rotary-dudes.

thanks,

Mike

Arrow Extra Saturday corral passes for the late comers...

I have 8 extra Saturday corral passes and since there are so many people asking if they can get into the corral(I cannot change my order placed on Monday). I have been asking interested parties to email me 2 weeks prior to the event and I would see what passes I have left, but I have accounted for all the passes I need to send to the ticket holders and I would rather take care of this NOW rather than wait until the last minute. I am getting burned out on having to check all the forums, RX7, MX5, MOCC, Roadster, etc and I have decided to sell them for $10 each.

I shelled out $2850 for the tickets and I have 22 (and counting) hours into organizing this corral. No, I didn't do this to make money, , but considering I fronted so much money and I have literally spent 4+ hours a day on this event and $10 is more than fair IMO.

The GA parking is about a 10 minute walk way up over the hill overlooking the front straight - a royal pita to walk back up if you forget something in your car or you want to leave your lunch or other items there to fetch later.

The corral parking is @ turn5 right next to the track - a 10 minute walk to the paddocks and the front straight, 5 minute walk to turns 2,3,4,6 and about a 10-12 minute walk up the hill to the Corkscrew.

Here is a track map:

If you are interested, email me @ mhagerla@comcast.net if you want to join the corral. I am asking people to paypal me $11(PP charges me 2.9% +.30 for receiving payments) and include your full name, address where you want the corral passes sent and your telephone number(cell preferred).
