Flywheel help
hey guys
i have a question on lightened flywheel options for my FC its a Automatic with the S4 engine N/A with S5 N/A components in an S5 chassis. and i plan on making it into a Manuel with a S5 transmission and drive-shaft. im currently looking to get the Exedy clutch kit and ACT lightened flywheel for it.
my question is:
which clutch and flywheel series (S4 or S5) do i need to get to install to make this happen or dose it not make a difference?
im 75% sure that i need the S4 on both the fly and clutch, but would like to confirm this is true.
and for the also for the flywheel, can i install this ACT flywheel on my car?
heres the link........
http://performance.importrp.com/act/...1/i-47719.aspx
the fitment options are making me confused i think it says i can put this on my car regardless if its N/A or Turbo or is there another option to take just wanted to know cause i found this guy on CL who is selling that particular model for cheap then what the website is asking.
thank
ricky

Any N/A FC flywheel will work with any FC N/A manual transmission. That means it doesn't matter if its s4 or s5. What matters is the counterweight you're going to need for that flywheel. That is transmission specific, not engine specific. When in doubt, go with the transmission.
Also, search a little numb nuts. Whats with all the technical threads in the West section lately? I mean seriously, it says you registered in March of 2008. What have you been doing since then?

I believe you meant that the counter weight is engine specific, not transmission specific...otherwise there wouldn't be any point to having a counter weight on the flywheel, as the transmission is internally balanced by itself...
It's purpose is to balance the engine, as it is matched to the counterweight that is under the front cover and the rotor's.
Totaly agree with the rest of your post though.

If your car is an automatic, you'll already have the correct counterweight. Unless you want to buy a spare.
N/A trans = N/A flywheel
S5 rotating assembly = (S5 rear counterweight + N/A aftermarket flywheel) OR S5 flywheel
S5 trans = S5 clutch kit (Mazdatrix shows different #'s for s5 throwout bearings and forks)
N/A trans = N/A flywheel
S5 rotating assembly = (S5 rear counterweight + N/A aftermarket flywheel) OR S5 flywheel

If it's an s4 engine you will need a s4 flywheel.if your s4 engine is auto and converting to manual, leave the counter weight on and buy a lighten s4 flywheel.the rear counter weight or flywheel has to match the rotors and front counter weight of that series engine.

ok cool so im going have to get the S4 Flywheel(light weight). but will it make a difference on the clutch whether i get an S4 or S5? i was thinking on going stage 1 by Exedy. and dose my engine already come with the rear counter or do i just only have the front?
