i think the nsx infront of me hit the 'drop spikes' button or something cause i was just driving 65 in a straight line and boom my rear left goes out. cross 4 lanes of traffic to find no "emergency lane" so i swoop into some cone space between the on ramp 3/4mile before national blvd going northbound. the rim seems to have survived due to the fat sidewalls of the 275/40.. the tire sidewall was sliced open 3/4 the way full circle. i drove 48miles without warning of eminent tire failure.. and i even checked the pressure to be fine! wtf?

i had this happend to me before, brand new michelin tire and suddenly it blows up and I found out it was a defective tire. The side wall was ripped all the way around the outside!
