The 300 area is where the radical part begins and makes the car barely streetable though.
I'd rather have 30-40 less horsepower/torque and be able to start it up and drive it around town and sit in traffic without an issue than worry about the 1200-1800 idle rpm and major fuel usage and if it wants to run smoothly etc...
The stock L28 can make around 200 or so with a cam and other head modifications, but that isn't enough power for me though haha.
It's why i'm building the stroker 3.1, you take a late 70's 280Z N42 or 81-83 280ZX F54 turbo block and bore it out 3mm over, put in a diesel maxima LD28 V07 crankshaft to make it an 83mm stroke instead of 79mm, some shaved KA24 dished pistons, L24 rods and a few other little things and you have a 3.1 liter capable of 280 streetable horsepower without forced induction and still able to get 25 or so MPG's on the freeway.
Not the best power per dollar way to go but it's a badass engine with 200+ torque curve that starts around 3500 rpms and lasts until your redline rpm depending on the other mods you've done to the engine. The torque doesn't peak like horsepower, it just makes a little hump and stays somewhat flat with the rpm's which is why it's so badass.
As well as everyone has done the V8 conversion or an SR20DET conversion or a VQ or something conversion to them so many times it's just old.
Once i'm tired of the 3.1 i'll go to an RB26TT and just do some light bolt on's and a Power FC or similar for computer control as it's 300 horsepower/torque from the factory is already alot of power in an early Z. A better intake manifold, set of twins, cams, injectors, and MAP based tuning rather than MAF should easily be more than enough power for me. ( Not 100% sure the RB26 uses a MAF just going off of an RB25 as I know that's what they use for airflow measurement which sucks *** IMO )
Everybody get the day requested off from work yet?

Dual gauge A-pillar pod specifically for an FC A-pillar $15
Old school HKS turbo timer that I pulled from a MK3 supra lien sold $30
S4 T2 transmission $50
S4 T2 upper and lower intake manifold $45 for the pair
S4 T2 modified throttle body $35
S4 T2 CAS $10
S4 T2 E shaft $10
Sunpro EGT gauge kit, only used for about 100 miles at most. $50
Reads up to 2000 degree's F which is what you need for a rotary.
Volvo 740 turbo intercooler, similar to the one that Karack uses on his FC as the endtanks come out on the side of the radiator making it a nice stealthy fit. $50
S4 headlight harness, the one under the dash that likes to fry- $30
Rotor housings, a few might be useable and a few are unusable- $20 for a bad one $40 for a possible good one
That's about it as far as rotary parts go...

If you decide to caravan we should try to get more Rx-7 people from the bay to join you guys, and girl
Can have our own NorCal after 7Stock get together for those who didn't want to drive 9 hours to LA...( me! haha )
Also Mutaku, the parts thing posted by CaliSwag707 got me to thinking about having some kind of swap meet every so often...
The datsun guy's have a swap meet setup every couple of months from what i've seen on the Z forums. They just did one a month or so ago and even did a campout at the same time haha.
Just an idea for thing's to do for future get togethers
Also i'd be willing to dump all of my Rx-7 parts off for $100 if anybody would be interested...Meaning you get everything listed below-
Dual gauge A-pillar pod specifically for an FC A-pillar
Old school HKS turbo timer that I pulled from a MK3 supra lien sold
S4 T2 transmission
S4 T2 upper and lower intake manifold
S4 T2 modified throttle body
S4 T2 CAS
Volvo 740 turbo intercooler, similar to the one that Karack uses on his FC as the endtanks come out on the side of the radiator making it a nice stealthy fit.
S4 headlight harness, the one under the dash that likes to fry
2 rotor housings for display
As well as a new ACV gasket, new turbo oil and water line gaskets, new intake manifold gasket, new FD oil pressure regulator and whatever else I can find.

Date and time:
Saturday December 12th at 1 PM
Location:
9822 Waterman Rd, Elk Grove, CA 95624
Now, so far the location is good to go for us but things may come up and we may need to change the location to my house which is only down the street from my shop so it's not too big of a deal. Keep checking back here at the most recent posts as either Mutaku or myself will post an update if there is a change in location ASAP and no later than the day before so as everyone can have enough time to figure out the map details.
