Does anyone like karting? Found a cheap coupon deal
I found a super coupon-- it's $36 for 4 races (just have to sign up on the website which is free)
This is for Fast Lap at Mira Loma-- I've never been but I want to go this coming Friday. I probably won't get there until around 6:30-7PM. I have no idea what the wait is going to be like since it's a Friday night but waiting for a race will probably be 30 min to an hour.

That being said, I suppose would anyone like a small meet that night?

Yeah bring your helmet. I'm hoping to get there at 6:30-7, depends on traffic from Anaheim. I'm gonna be there regardless of whether people show up or not, just thought I'd share the coupon.

So I went yesterday to check it out. Turns out you get 21 laps if you go Tuesday-Thursday. Friday, Sat and Sun is just 18 laps. My time was horrible unfortunately but I'll be back. On Mondays, they run the track backwards. It's challenging and I look forward to not running slow.

The gap between times is really big, it's pretty hard because the karts are gas powered and not as responsive as electrics. You lose power in one corner and your whole lap is going to suck. And the floor is pretty slick, garage floor type, not asphalt. You'll oversteer if you get on the throttle too early-- too late and you'll lose power. Top time is held by ONE person around 27s and then a really large gap to #2 which is 29.xxx and maybe 4 other people run 29 and then another huge gap to 30. It's really widely spread out. I'm told most people run 35 and above their first time. My average was 35 flat with a couple 34s and 35s here and there. Still lots of training to do here to get better.
Yes, you need to buy it online. They'll email you a coupon code and then you can print it out and take it with you. Their Las Vegas location is the only one that has a website. The Mira Loma one is listed very quietly on that site. Hopefully this clears it up. http://fastlaplv.com/routes/
Another note is that these are non-transferrable, meaning those 4 races belong to just you and can't be split with other peeps.

I'll try to get there about 7pm. Should be a blast, though I'm sure i'll come in dead last.
Do we have to actually call the track for a reservation, Sarah? The confirmation ticket says "To make your reservation, please call (951) 681-3601."
