debating between shops!!! Autotech,JMC....
my car's clutch went out this week, the flywheel is bad and on top of that i have a rear main seal leak, i already purchased a new exedy clutch and a 8 lb flywheel but im debating on where to take my car. my first choice was with seth at JMC motorsports but the only problem there is that my car would have to stay a long time. my other choice is taking it up to autotech in chula vista. the cost dosnt matter i just want my car to be fixed the right way so that i wont have to take it back. where do you guys think i should take it to.

Ben,
A clutch and flywheel job is not all that different on an RX-7. I have never changed a rear seal, so I don't know if it is unique issue (in terms of how to repair it) to the RX-7. You might be able to get by with taking it to a reputable shop that is capable of dropping transmissions, and doing clutch and flywheel jobs. They should have "all data" and have the specifics of your car in their system, so they should be able to do the rear seal as well. I would just ask around and compare prices, etc.
I would not get hooked on the idea of having to take it to a shop that works on RX-7s.
Someone will correct me if I am wrong...
Just my $.02

well it really isnt a clutch job the thing is autotech said they would drop my tranny, replace the main seal which is leaking and while they were there they could replace my clutch and flywheel at no cost. but now im a little unsecure about the shop since i've been hearing bad things about it
i just dont want to have to get it done again, i want them to do a great job, like i said before the cost is not the problem.
61620B i know theres a couple of good people in LA and nor cal that could do it for me but my car is no longer driveable. thanks a lot though.

teddy damn your friend got ripped off but i was reading that thread and it says that they are good techs but bad fabricators, you think they'll be able to do a good job on the main seal and clutch.

yeah i could knock it out. And for some reason there not really good techs either the work is sloppy, and mis leading as to what really gets done when he/she leave his/her car there. My other friend who had problems with his car had taken the car and spent $350 on vacume leak that they couldn't find till i actually walked in and found it for them, on the top side of the intake mani on the passanger side.
