lol, theres a thread in the lougne and one in the west forum. you're obviously confused
I like the idea of if itll pass smog its all good, thats how it is in Az. They have just as strict emissions numbers, but only require charcoal canister and gas cap tests for visual on a lot of cars (FB and FC years). I don't think they even look for cat or airpump on visual but i have heard of them being bitchy before.
I'm just gonna put some 4.88 gears and a flywheel and RB muffler on the car and keep the thermal reactor, bone stock its not really slow, moves at a good pace and is never dead on power even w/ 100hp/105tq, so gears and flywheel will pep it up bigtime.
Smog ***** win on this car. Plus it means it makes it easier for me to keep this car very near stock and original, not utterly original, but almost.

all that bill did was focus people on putting more old schools back on the road. old schools that people don't need to worry about getting 6mpg in or belching black smoke and no one to watch them. the older cars were tougher to burn cleaner but they didn't care back then and now we're going back to that mentality? fine by me, i have 2 pre smog vehicles and putting the 7 back to stock and selling it isn't a huge ordeal.

CA is currently targeting all 76-80 vehicles, want them "retired". Forcing an annual smog test and/or being sent to Test Only where its neigh impossible to get 'a little help'.
There are stats from actual smog tests and the roadside 'mobile smog machines' that show the older the vehicle, the more likely it failed the smog test. And by a larger margin than newer vehicles. And, older vehicles were reported more often by 1-800-CUT-SMOG.
I wonder what happens if a pre 76 vehicle is reported to 1-800-CUT-SMOG??????

Report Smoking Cars to 1-800-CUT-SMOG
Gross Polluters represent only 10 to 15 % of all California vehicles, but they produce over 50 % of vehicle smog.
