they knew the year of the seven was coming up so they got rid of rolling smog exemption years.

Just verified it and vehicles from 1975 and below are smog exempt.

Riceburner1r2001 and anyone else who need more clarification. Read the 5th paragraph, and also click on Vehicle Exemptions. Again, this will take you to my previous post. If you read the fine print it states, "Table is effective 1/1/2005". I do not think anything drastic would have changed up to now. So, 1975 is the cut off for smog exemptions in California. In addition, I spoke with my brother-in-law, who is a smog technician and he also said 1975 is the cut off.

Sorry ladies/gents, I have more bad news. I just got done speaking with my brother-in-law, who double checked about the smog exemption and it is now down to '73. I guess Cali screwed us again.

it's 75

I know 'cause I waited over a year when it was still rolling for my 75 REPU to become exempt.

I heard recently they change it so that it only moves a year every 3. So it takes 3 years for one year...was it a lie?

You are right. My bro-in-law said he looked at the wrong thing. So we both stand corrected. Thanks for the correction.
