CA - FC Vert TII swap - BARable?
Do you think it would be possible to get an FC vert with a TII engine BARed/Reffed ? I know the verts didn't come TII originally but do you think they'd allow it considering its basically the same from a smog/emissions point of view as a coupe?
Pref. like to hear from someone who has done this or tried and failed.

i have not done this. but....how would they know they didnt come turbo'd. other than the compy saying 13b fuel injection Non-Turbo....but you can tell them it had a turbo option.
there is no VIN on the engine, they wont know any better.

I imagine their software would indicate that the vert models did not come with turbo engines. I dunno ... I'm looking at this S5 vert and if I do get it I'd like to TII it.

I did exactly this. Did a S4 TII swap into my S4 Vert.
Took it to a Ref to get what ever sticker I needed so I wouldn't have to deal with smog hassles going forward. The Ref said that because the TII drivetrane was available in my year RX7 (doesn't matter that it only was available in a coup), no inspection was needed. It was 100% legal, at least because I also put every smog thing there is on it as well.

TII's and Verts are like speed boats and sail boats.
When you get in a speed boat, the fun is getting to your destination fast.
When you get in a sail boat, you've already arrived.
Putting a TII engine/drivetrane in a Vert is like putting a fully built out 20B in a sail boat. The ultimate Wankle driving experience.
