Bikes?
Anyone know where I can find killer deals on local bikes? I'm looking for a decent mountainbike that I won't destroy like my last one. Someone that's durable that I can take trailing and stuff.
Or if I find a killer deal on a roadbike that'd be cool too....my current bikes tires are ripping and the crank is kinda bent so yeah...don't feel like waiting for the tires to take a complete **** on me or paying to repair an old *** bike.

What's your budget? Sounds like you need something better than a Magna or Costco bike. You can start off with a Specialized HardRock... Pretty inexpensive, and upgrade later. Bikes are just like cars, you can upgrade depending on your wallet size.
Hardrock $280 at Incycle (Pasadena or other locations)

Also, disk brakes aren't that amazing unless they are hydraulic.

I HATE CYCLIST
They love showing the world how healthy they are by putting on skin tight suits and riding around in the middle of the road.
They create traffic and causes danger to drivers.
However, I have long looked past that by creating a fun and challenging game.
I made a game of passing cyclists while giving them the minium required amount to pass them. It is a point system - you score 1, or 2 points depending... and sometimes, you get a 0.
The idea is that, when you pass a cyclist, you have to stay in your side of the double yellow. Having your outside tire roll on the double yellow disqualifies you and you get 0 points. If you successfully pass them, you get one point. If you pass them close enough where you did not make contact with them, but cause them to swerve, scare them, or cause them to flip you off, it is two points.
This is the part that gets tricky. If you can make contact with them with your passenger side mirror, cause them to swerve until they recover, but they do NOT fall off from the bike, that is 100 points. However, if they fall off, it is 0 points Also note that there MUST be an audible sound from making contact with the cyclist.
There is also another part to that. If you make contact with them incorrectly, sometimes they may fall and will cause their bike and themselves to go under your right rear tire. In the event of that happening, you are to continue driving, but you have to start the game over - at 0 points.
The points ARE ACCUMLATIVE. So obviously, it is worth taking the risk to make contact with cyclists, and if you do not have alot of points raked up, it is also an easy way to earn more points...
So far, I am currently at 419 points!

I seriously doubt they can carry a wrench in their bike.
Not only that - The bikers do not live here, they travel to the other side of town to ride down my road. They illegally park their cars to bring their bikes here on *someone's* property (there are even no trespassing signs and private property signs there).
The road is a private road in many sections, and are maintained by neighbors putting money together. We maintain the road because that is where we live, and to provide us a mean of getting in and out - not to make a road for cyclist.
Are you one of those healthy ****?

i have an older trek 820 (2005 maybe) hardtail with the suspension fork. its treated me well all these years that i've had it. i've gone through a few sets of tires and 1 seat but its a solid bike. i take it up to upper bidwell a lot and its seen its fair share of abuse. need to get it tuned up but its a very reliable bike. i also have another older rockhopper hardtail with front suspension that's pretty solid. my brother has a more recent rockhopper hardtail with regular brakes (2007 i think) which is very light and handles well in upper bidwell (only place i go since i can't haul the bikes around). im sure it handles well in other settings too. im not really used to its geometry though.
i would recommend a hardtail over a suspension just because you pay a huge premium for full suspension bike. the average biker doesn't use it to its full potential. it also comes down to the feel of the bike too. get it sized correctly and test ride it if possible. get sized at a local bike shop so you have an idea of the proper size. size on a few different makes of bikes because some differ a little (geometry and whatnot).
if i HAD money, i'd love to get a stumpjumper with disc brakes. i have a classic miyata roadbike that takes me to work everyday.

"waaa people on bikes are 'ruining' my semi-private road in front of my McMansion by riding on some else's property who I can't even name. How will I survive another day!? My parents pay good money to keep rif-raf out of our neighborhood and look at this, cars parked on my street!" hahahaha
The imagery is golden; you sitting in your front window cradling a gameboy, boiling with hate as a couple people smile and quietly ride by on a sunny afternoon.
hahahaha!
P.S. Yes, I am very healthy and VERY gay.

I live out here because rent is lower and I have my own house along with my own 2 car garage... and a large property to boot.
My parents? I wouldn't go as far as them supporting me, since I pay rent off of my savings (you know, when I was working 80+ hours a week as a mechanic, machinist, truck driver, warehouse forklift operator, and amusment rental). They *are* helping me pay for school because I am not qualified for financial aid (due to making too much money in the past years). Utilities bill? I sell parts (by parting out cars) and work as a mechanic for people.
I am actually entertaining you and rx7club by replying because I had people text me saying how ironic it is that you are "making fun" of people for being supported by their parents when "that spoiled rich kid renton talk **** bout the game" who is "hella supported by his parents"
So, tell me - just how retarded are you? and where does this put you?

Well you can always get a bike with regular disk brakes an upgrade it later, for the price of $350, you won't get much greatness from a brand new bike. I say the extra weight and dollars is worth it for disk brakes, but I used to go mountain biking in the mud and rain constantly.
Oh and my old shop doesn't carry Giants, we mostly have Treks and Cannondale's. Or if you'd like i can look into some awesome gary fihsher's.
