Big street racing bust in oakland
#26
And honestly can anybody say that they have never done some extent of test and tune some where on your street/neighborhood, or the industrials near you. I can say I've done 1st - 3rd gear pulls on the back street on my neighborhood to test settings and ****. And if you have you can't really knock street racing too much, because this is what alot of people use it for. Before they drive the some 50-200 miles to the track. I know theres test and tune days blah blah blah.... I know the routine. But its 1am and you just finished installing your PFC or AFC or whatever, are you really gonna wait a week or two and drive 200 miles before you tweak it. I wouldn't I know alot of ppl on and outside this forum who didn't. I've even known performance shops that don't have dynos that have done this.

I'm not gonna preach anymore but it lost it's glamour after a few years and a few deaths. Be lucky you didn't see the **** I saw and had to drive away. If you choose to do it then nothing we try to say will change your mind. I just hope you don't have to experience anything bad for you to realize it's not worth the risk.

i remember in the mid 90's the runs were fun as hell. but then again i was a juvenile. LMAO
ive always thought the oakland runs were pretty safe until people were flipping a bitch while people were running less than a quarter mile back.

It's BS because at the end of the night the rush wears off and you forget about it. You never forget the car that flips in your mirror and the fatality(ies) in the paper the next day. If you don't think that's BS then I can't really say anything else that you'll understand. I guess I grew up and away from that scene earlier than others.
Anything that puts your life, the life of others and your project in jeopardy of total obliteration in less than 20 seconds is bullshit. At at the track you can see anything that might be in your way. You can be sure the track won't have bumps or potholes. It's safer overall. You can go faster at the track than you can on the street without the added risk of pedestrians, motorists or retards. The only dumbass that can make you crash is YOU.
You all have way too much trust in the OTHER drivers. I don't trust anyone's driving (i was almost killed 2x today because some fucktards drove like their heads were up their asses) let alone anyone driving next to me at a high rate of speed in a car with power (or a FWD torquesteering POS).
I've been there, done that and once you realize how dangerous and pointless it really is you don't even want to be next to the lil street racers because you know an accident is waiting to happen.
You got lucky, you have two choices:
1. Stop while you're ahead
2. Risk it again for the rush and hope for the best.

also if your saying fwd cars are p.o.s., what makes your rx7 so HIGH AND MIGHTY?
I guess I wont see you at the runs because I'll be that "lil street racer" wanting to race.

If it's bullshit then basically everything you do over the speed limit is bullshit and you can't tell me your the safest driver out there.
The shitty part is that you're a bitch to have to deal with in traffic. I'm a nightowl, I love being out at night sometimes and it sucks to not know when you're going to come around the corner. I know to avoid certain parts of town because of this problem but I shouldn't have to. What about anyone who works late? is visiting a relative? anyone who may be on that "deserted road."
unless you're omniscient.
If your saying streetracing is bullshit then your also saying touge is bullshit. if it so pointless why race at all, on or off the track.
At least you have daylight, and plenty of laps to push your limits and then try the car's limits at the track. Hell, some guy just flipped a civic last friday at thunderhill. I can only speculate as to what happened since we were on the other side of the track but the danger is there. How long do YOU have before the cops show up?

You go right ahead. LIke I said: I grew up and out of that a long time ago. Eventually it just became a bunch of little kids in fast cars. Hope they know how to drive and hope they don't try any of the drift moves they saw somewhere. I try to avoid them.
I dunno, you MIGHT be a cool person but you're a jerk on the roads (if any of this applies to you) and you make things hard for those of us that just want to enjoy the 7. It sucks. I love the sound of an open piped rotary but too many ricers and racers had them. Attracted too much unwanted attention even when you're not doing anything bad.
HAhaha, enjoy:

No point in arguing about street racing. everybody takes each side and doesn't cross over to either or...
But last time I checked my tire pressure. Front was 36lbs cus i filled it up a few days ago, and 24lbs in the rear cus i lowered it that night.

damnit scratch. I check my **** every two weeks. I double checked them before the track and I still had that blow out on the freeway before the Driver's meeting!!
I checked them after the new tires were installed and then I checked them on my way home.
I guess that's what makes me crazy. Prepare for the worst.

Well ****, I guess I'm goin to be that jerk on the road just like half of the people on this forum. I'll see you in the slow lane with all the safe prius drivers savin gas

The only time I drive in the slow lane is when it's raining. You do whatever you think is right buddy. I could care less, from this point onyou're just one of the many incompetent drivers on the road that I have to look out for.
