Link to route from Wilder Road parking area in Oakland to Golf Links road Shell, then to Lawrence Hall of Science in Berkeley via Skyline blvd/Grizzly:

Link to low car friendly Chevron in Orinda. Less than 5 mins from meet spot.

There's a Shell across the street, but take the Orinda way entrance on the North side for easier entry.
Low Car Entry on left side of this pic for Shell

Edit: the links aren't working properly, but the route is actually really simple, especially if you know East Bay.
One the day of, just set your GPS for the Wilder Road Athletic area, then for Golf Links Road Shell, and then finally for Lawrence Hall of Science. The whole group'll be there anyways for the drive, so no man will get left behind.

Parking guide for Lawrence Hall of Science portion of the meet:
Vista lot/ Green lot : Primary (park angled)
East Lot / Purple: Primary overflow East Lot Parking and Overflow street parking
Red: Hillside Overflow
Blue: Top row hillside overflow. Wouldn't recommend parking there for the meet cuz it's kinda far, but it's good for a photoshoot.
Red X: Lawrence Hall Staff parking. Don't park.
This is all low car friendly.
Additionally, it'd be cool if we could arrange ourselves by color, regardless of generation. Let's see if we can make that work. 🫶

I was wondering about that thing. It's got a couple little things that aren't 100% stock, but what a cool little car! I drove one for a decade + and the Golf R I bought after it has been bullet proof, quick, high tech, and completely soulless compared to the MSP. I really hope to see him get big bucks for it. Like the 323GTX, the MSP is one of the most under-rated cars EVER.

Got the basics on here in a quickly shareable format for anyone interested in bringing a good friend or someone interested in rotaries. I'm no purist, so I don't mind non rotaries showing up, or ex owners , etc etc. This is gonna be a great evening to enjoy some driving, scenery, and talk builds any way you slice it.
Weather's looking a little chilly though, so plan accordingly.

Morning y'all we're about 8 days away now. Get those miscellaneous Mazdas maintained. I stopped by the Lawrence lot the other evening and noticed a surprising amount of litter, so I'll be bringing a few garbage bags and trash grabber picker things if anyone wants to help clean up during the meet. I mean if we're hanging out for a few hours loitering then why not, right? Plus on the odd chance security wants to kick us later into the night, wouldn't it work in our favor to leave things better than we found em?
Just putting this out there. It's totally optional. But if you've got one of those litter picker upper arms plz bring it.
"But it's not our job, someone else will do it." Yeah nah there's litter cuz no one cleans it and everyone leaves it lol. This is where volunteer cleanup efforts on beaches, state parks etc come into play. BESSSSIIIIDDDESSSS ain't it just nice to do something nice? : )

Event: 7/8/23 Bay Area Caravan to Rx7 Day Meet (Loma Mar Kitchen)
Caravan location:
Route: 9>35>84>pescadero
Bottom of Big Basin (9) (no stop, in case you get lost)
Driving speed:
We will be driving at a cruise pace and slow pace through Pescadero Rd.
Pescadero Rd can be challenging, especially for those who have never been. Make sure your RX7 is properly set up.
I might lead a more spirited group for those of you that has been on this route previously.
Important:
Location: Pescadero downtown
Arrival time: Around 12:00 PM
Options: There is a small downtown area in Pescadero with a wonderful bakery, sandwiches, cold coffee, and a gas station taco joint.
my personal reset is grabbing some taco and head over to the Pescadero vista point (cliff) overseeing hwy 1. I would bring camping chairs and just eat my tacos right near the edge of the cliff.
There is nothing like it.

Please extend the invite to your RX7 friends and family in other groups.
Let's have a great time together and ensure everyone's safety on the road!
please reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
Caravan location:
- Start: Starbucks (Meeting point)

Important:
- Don't tailgate other cars and leave room for mistakes.
- Drive at your own pace and pull to the side if needed. No one will judge you.
- Put your ego aside and drive safely. This is not the time or place for aggressive driving. We want everyone to make it to the end and enjoy some coffee.
- Check your car's condition: good tire pressure, good rubber, and no oil or coolant leaks. Getting a AAA truck through the mountain can be a nightmare.

Two-ish days out my dudes. I'd recommend a jacket , and a passenger to take pics during the cruise.
No restrooms or facilities at the second meet point besides a trashbin.
Expect A LOT of fog.
One last Deet regarding Saturday's meet my doods if we can hardpark backwards and angled like this regardless of if your orientation is rotary or otherwise that'd be 👌👌👌.
First lot at Wilder it doesn't really matter, but definitely at Lawrence Hall . It'll make for cooler compositions for photographer ShotsbyKev
This goes for people who choose to skip the first meet (at 5) , skip the drive( at 6 ) , and just want to meet everyone at 7 at Lawrence Hall.
Got plenty going on no matter what your schedule is, so let's make this years 7's day BIGGG 💪

Awesome and thanks for hosting the meets. I'll probably come out this Sat. 9/23, but I may not be able to make it to the R&B for the end of the month if it will be held. Always looking forward to dusting off the old time machine and hanging out!
