Bay Area Dyno Day? What you think...

So, im trying to get all the RX7s and supras from the Bay Area for a gathering and maybe too, have a dyno day. Im trying to get a crew together to see if anyone wants to have a dyno session here in Santa Rosa or in San Rafael. I have a friend here in town that can, im pretty confident, that he will give us a group rate on his roll on 4 wheel dyno.

Im open on date settings and times, i think i just need to give my friend, the shop's owner, a couple weeks notice to set up the sesssion.

Are there any of the forum members are interested in a dyno session?

I let me see what and who will be coming out from the supra world. I would also like the Subes' and Evo's come out too since the option of the 4 wheel dyno is still available.

Im thinking sometime in early or mid Januay 2007. What do you think?

I will get a price for you guys tomorrow or Thurday.

Alright, i contacted my friends shop here locally, and this what got from him as for our group session.

It has to be on a Saturday, but i have to give a 3 weeks advance notice.

3-4 pulls for $95 w/ AF reading.

10 cars MAX.

He said if we group the cars together, for the time to strap up the cars, the rate would be lower. So if can get him a list what is coming out, he maybe be able to reconsider the price.

Brian is going to be able to help us out, when we need it, with the same prices as he did for the session last weekend.

if supras and subies are coming out 10 cars max doesnt sound nearly enough.

Well if we do it at my place then its only going to be a 2WD dyno day, as we don't have the rollers for 4WD at this time. Maybe later down the road some day..

With the number of cars, I have normally just stayed until everyone has done the runs they want to regardless of time. Or I'll do it both Sat and Sun depending on the demand of course.

The prices from last weekend were:

$65 for 3 pulls with AFR.

$85/hour to rent the dyno for tuning/tweaking use.

We're talking about two different shops in this thread, not sure I think the other prices listed above were for the one in Santa Rosa? I am not sure on that one.

Yeah, i think i have to scratch my buddies shop and awd car off the list, if we all want to do it at Brian's Uncle shop.

Brian,

If we do it at San Rafael, would there be a more powerful, compact fan blower like on the website?: http://www.ultimategarage.com/hvac.html

Thanks again Brian for the consideraton.

I'll bring it up with my uncle and see what he was planning on doing in this regard. I can't say for sure at this point. I'll let you guys know when I know.
