I just want to know if anyone in the metro Phoenix area have/has done this swap? I have a perfectly good stock motor but Ive always been very interested in doing this swap, if my motor was to take a crap!!! Anyways please get back to me I really would like to discuss more about it. Also how much would this swap cost?

Budget about 10k on top of your roller for a swap done simply. That breaks down to about:
-$5000 pullout
-$2000 mounting
-$3000 cooling, fuel, driveline, tools, misc other
You might get away with a bit less but I wouldn't start unless you're SURE you have the budget to see it through. If you want heads/cam or more displacement it goes up. A good running rotary with trans can fetch $3000 or so...

I could do the swap for you...or at least help you through it. It is pretty simple when it comes down to it. I have about $10K into mine and I was able to salvage a lot out of my old rotary setup. I think my car is what Elliot was refering to, unfortunately I was missing a thread pitch adapter fitting, that prevented me from being able to run a wire, which prevented me from being able to mount and charge the A/C, so my dead line became meaningless... I had an ACL reconstructive knee surgery on August 6th and so my car has sat, completely wired (aside from a coolant sensor and reverse lights), with the engine installed, but no exhuast (Elliot) and the cooling system not completely mounted (Elliot was also going to help with this braket).
I am feeling pretty good, so my car should be done by the end of the month. I will see when Elliot gets some time so we can put the exhaust and cooling system totally together.
I am leaving the engine mostly stock. I had a cam and head package, but I am selling that and buying rcomp tires and 18" wheels. I am tired of chasing a power goal and want to drive the car. I think the stock LS1 with ported throttle body, intake, headers, exhaust and a UD crank pulley will be 360ish whp with aroud the same torque and will be plenty fun on the road course. I am not trying to build an ego car....just something to have fun in.
