No ! They Did !

And While you're at it, have them check the rotary fux capacitor at the valve cover as well !

I know it's an older thread but I thought i'd share my experiences recently.

RRR quoted me 6k for a stock rebuild on my 93 - no porting. Said they would re-use the rotars. I'm far from being a rotary expert but that sounds high compared to the Mazdatrix Build level E rebuild for 6k where you get everything new cept the rotor housings. Also their website reflects a 5k stock rebuild. /shrug Super friendly people though.

Mazdatrix. Said they couldn't give a quote until they got the engine out and saw what was re-useable but that their build levels were up to date. I guess that's fair but doesn't comfort those of us on a budget. Can I get a ball park? 2k - 7k isn't a ball park. It's a solar system.

Rotary Power. Left message. No returned phone call.

I thought I'd share my experiences about some of the shops mentioned in this thread.

Grimple1 - M'Trix is a bit frustrating for estimates but John is the most trustworthy mechanic I have ever met. As you mentioed with the other shop, they are flat rate priced. You do not know what they will resuse and replace.

Rotary Power, i've been there before but never used them. He does work in his garage (literaly, his house garage). Seams like a nice guy, been in business a long time but I don't know about his teen helpers. Anyhow, you can do a search on each shop and read comments for yourself.
