CA Another problem

I just got a new ecu and a new omp to get rid of limp mode

but when i put the ecu in

i can't get my car to start

it tries and tries but just can't get there

i give it some gas and it's on but won't hold idle

feed me some info.

is the motor flooded????

also check to see if your egi fuse is blown or not...

perhaps the ecu is still getting settled in?

Pull the EGI fuse. Crank it 4-5 times. Put it back in. If it still doesn't start... Pull the spark plugs and clean them off with a wire brush. Spray brake clean on them. Throw them back in. If it still doesn't start, junk it.

from what i remember, sometimes when a motor swap is done, the ecu has to be "reflashed" or set back to defaults. but it has been a while so i dunno

You know I was thinking the same thing. the old ECU is on limp mode and when we put in the one I had, it had a hard start-up and when we managed to get it on, it sounded like the timing was off and it was super rich.

I thought about it last night and realized my TII ecu did the same thing. I put it in after my rebuild and it sounded aweful then after a while it cleared up

The FC ECU has a neural net processor, a learning computer.

Skynet hasn't bee built yet. The RX-7 ECU made it here from the future.
