Fine... I got the part about you being done with the donations for Tamera... I just don't get the part about giving a girl that little amount of cash($430.00), for someone who almost lost her life and has to learn how to walk again ...

I mean lets put this into perspective, instead of giving $430.00 cash... Get her a gift worth $430.00 like an arrangement of flowers and a friendship bracelet or something... The cash will only seem like a little to her compared to what she lost... A gift means sooo much more.... Also the memory of healing and forgiveness in a TOKEN will last forever... Remember cash comes and goes.

Just my 2 cents,
Dwayne

Unfortunately I didnt get a chance to donate anything to her but I will try my best to give her something tomorrow. I agree that money comes and goes but it will help her out a little since she wont be able to work for a while. I hope everyone can make it tomorrow.

Sad news. Never actually knew Guitarjunkie28, but I had grown to have a lot of respect and admiration for the things he did with rotaries. I will miss him. It was really hard to read about his death a few minutes ago.

Rest in Peace, Bro! Much Rotary Love ...

The amount may seem low because you're comparing to the amount that Dave's fund has. You have to remember that this fund started after Dave's fund - after people already donated to Dave's' fund.

The amount's not the issue. On any other forum, a member in the hospital would be lucky to get a few hundred in donations. The amount is LARGE for what it is. The issue is that we're not in a position to decide on a gift for her. None of us know her well enough to say that she needs a $430 gift more than the cash itself. If she or her family really needed the money, it would be completely idiotic to give her a huge $430 flower arrangement.

Unless you KNOW that she'd rather have something else, you don't get to decide that she should get a gift instead of money. If she decides that she'd rather have an ipod, guess what? She's old enough to be able to buy an ipod without us. Trust me, she'd still think about us when she uses the ipod whether she buys it or we do. The difference is, if she buys it, it's something that she DEFINITELY wanted, not something that one of us decided that she wanted.

well i talked to her in person and on the phone, and im one of the main ones in charge of doing this for her.. she is out of work due to this accident.. so no work = no money.... she has bills, and yes, $430 isnt alot, but its something! i asked these questions w/ her having no knowledge of what we were all doing... so when i told her we were doing donations in her name, she was so happy that we all care enough to try and help her through this tough time!

and when i went to the hospital, i bought her a big bouquet of flowers and told her it was from all of us! so thats been taken care of.... now we are trying to help her financially as much as we can.... thats why we are giving her cash!

Viper don't take this wrong but im appall by your actions. You would have not found out where or who Tamara is if Rotorlution did not do some research. Rotorlution setup a fund for Tamara because nowone else did. Im just frustrated that everytime Tamara comes up you think that you are the man. I have the donations from generous forum members and I will donate it to her with a card from us ( Rx7club ).
Thanks Robert

Unhappy

I kept seeing a thread in the for sale section about Dave. But I did not read it and then I just went into the west forum and saw this.

I have done some business with Dave in the past and have pm'd him about other things. He was always willing to go out of his way to help.

I don't know what to say. I am very sad to hear this.

My deepest heart felt condolences to his family.

are you kidding me??? you dont think she would rather the help with the money that she is NOT receiving by by NOT being at work..... sorry dude, but I think she can use and appreciate the $430 cash more then she can $430 woth of freakin flowers, even more so since she has already received flowers from many forum members. the point was to help her out in a time of need, not buy her as many flowers as we could. come on!!!

Rob, I dont think Jesse ment it like that. I think he might have been upset (like I was) by what that guy typed, and he was just trying to say that he has been in contact with her, and he kinda got the hint that she could use the money. I don thtink he meant that he was the top guy on this. nor did he say that he was the one to start the fund...

on Vipers side he is the only one that has gone to see her and call her. I know I would not have. I would have been scared shitless. I seriously belive that because of Jesse she is taking this way better then she would have. I think she sees that there are so many of us backing dave. I think she now realizes that Dave was not just some punk street racer that almost took her life. I KNOW Jesse talked a LOT about the people in this forum to her. He would not have said that HE is giving a donation or anything like that. she is well aware that there are a LOT of fourm members that are making this possible for her.

I really dont think Jesse meant it the way he typed it.

Jesse????

so you want to screw her because of your beef with Vipers?

I really dont want to get to much i nthe middle of this, but come on Rob... what is so bad about what he said? He IS one of the main guys when it comes to the Tamara "project" he donated his money, he has tried to get people to donate, he has seen her in person.... I dont see the problem.
He didnt say "I am the main guy, I am the one who started it" ROTORLUTION is the one to start it, You hold the money now, Vipers saw her in person and is the one holding the communication with her. all I have done is try to get people to donate..... so I guess I just dont understand what the problem is with what he said????

EDIT: I to think of you as a friend.... why are you two bickering like this? is it really that big of a deal? just kiss and make up.

Hey guys, what are you doing?

As far as the young lady goes, any amount i'm shure would be appreciated and even though it seams small in comparison to Daves fund the money would be usefull. Flowers would be a wonderfull getsure but $400 worth of flowers? As far as a gift, what do we know what she wants or needs? I'm shure there will be uncovered deductables for special needs (crutches, wheel chair, dr visits, parking, gas) and any amount would lift her spirits which will help her. We should also realize that helping her is helping Dave. Could you imagine the guilt and sorrow he would feel if he was here with us? I myself feel guilty as I intended to contribute last night but forgot when I got home and in the morning it was too late.

It's easy to get mad online rather then in person but hatefull or spitefull comments is no way to pay respects to both parties!

oh, I forgot to add. I know you guys closed the fund but instead of cash (maybe too late but) you could get one of those visa type cards that are rechargable and if so then funds could be added to it. It would have been nice to have reached $777.77
